i read on another post that something new was started at the last elder's meeting about "turning in time" or "getting time in".anybody know what it is?
I must ask this question, especially for persons who came into the JWs from other religions,
Didn't it seem a bit crazy that you had to turn in "time". How is this backed up by the word of God. It absolutley makes no sense to me.
I really can't understand how grown people could not think logically about very obvious "man made rules"
i have dated a non-active (from birth) jw off and on for the past 3 years and i have noticed that he is not very affectionate at all.
i'm wondering was it part of the upbringing?
could it be that since the relationships were shallow this never was an issue.. has anyone else experienced this.. very curious

He is not an active JW and please keep in mind we have done the doo plenty of times, he has done the whole celebration of every holiday with me and so on, however, when it comes to a simple hug, hand hold, etc. he is extremely challenged.

when you all were dating jws, did you have to have a chaperone everytime you went out?
did you always adhere to this rule?
how did you get around it without getting caught?.

You probably don't. Many thats why a lot of the marraiges are in trouble.

while it is not impossible to have a happy marriage in the jw religion for many it is hard, for some it is very hard to maintain happiness in their marriage.
the watchtower raises the bar so very high in every aspect of life, marriage included.
the watchtower literature encourages a jw married couple to be practically perfect, or at least that is the goal set before them.

To answer your question, I am a makeup artist, i used to work with a witness who was getting married and I did her makeup for her wedding. Thereafter she would contact me for future events and introduced me to her "sisters".
They were nice for the most part, but when they saw that I wasn't interested in being a jw they got very cold. Also, I noticed that if you didn't talk about THEIR religion, there was nothing to talk about.
As far as the guy I still date. He is inactive, however he has been to every holiday function with me including taking me away for my birthday. (singing the song and all....go figure) I've noticed with him, that he is all things to all people. Doesn't really stand up for what he believes.
