we always had the typical stuff. calling people by wrong names, forgetting names, occasional zipper down, saying the wrong word {one brother said it was important to meditate deeply on the scriptures as you constipate - he meant concentrate}. the only one that really stands out for me in all the time was a brother was giving a TMS part and it was his first time trying it from an outline. he was encouraged for months to use an outline. he started his talk and about 30 seconds in, he got confused as to what to say. instead of regrouping, he just picked up his bible and walked right to his seat, grabbed his bag and left. he did not come back for six months. to this day, and this has been years ago, he is not on the TMS.

what if someone comes into the "truth" and turns out to be the greatest spiritual guy there is. serves for several years, tested as to fitness first stuff, and he marries a born in pioneer. few years later HIV pops up and he was loyal to her as all could be. cause that stuff can lay dormant for years without surfacing. now, the question is, did jehovah screw her over for marrying a good guy in the "truth" or what? she played by all the rules. such a stupid poem.

one time me and another brother caught an elder smoking. told him he had a week to come clean. he did but nothing. caught him again and told him to come clean again. again he did and they did nothing cause he was an elder.
one time my wife found out a sister was working for a strip club. my wife was working part time and some guys she worked with had a bachelor party for one of the guys in the office one weekend. one of the girls in the office the next week mentioned that there was photos going around between the guys from the party. my wife happened to see them and in one of the pictures was a sister in a bikini sitting on a guy's lap. she asked the guys who it was. they all said she was a stripper at the party. she da'd before anything else could be done. she was "on the edge" as it was anyway.
the one that sits funny with me though is we were helping an old sister out with cleaning her house. someone always picked her up and took her to meetings, but she made it clear that friday nights she was to be left alone. turned out, they saw her coming out of a bingo parlor. she played every friday night. went on for years it turned out. well, when one of the brothers approached her about it, she told him it was her own money and her own business and no one else's. sure enough, no one said any more to her and she played every friday

Unbelieving Husband's Status

i'm not sure if he was witness or one of those husbands that shows up for the memorial and an occasional public talk.
anyway here is what i've noticed.

yeah - my father. my mother is jw and some of my family. my dad will go to the occasional get together and the memorial and will show up when i have a public talk. people, especially the other sisters, claw all over him. they love him. i will admit, he is one smooth character, but i think he plays the game because he likes the attention, especially from the sisters.

what was the worst advice you were ever given
by rockmehardplace ini was that one way to increase my field service time for me and my wife was by standing at a truck stop and hand out tapes to truckers in the early mornings.
this is the same lot that is frequented by drug dealers and hookers.
another time, while studying, i said i did not understand the blood issue.

another time, while studying, i said i did not understand the blood issue. i was told to pray about it and it would eventually make sense. at my baptism questions, i still had not understood the blood issue, and again i was told to pray about it and it would make sense one day but to go ahead and get baptized. i still do not understand the logic of abstaining from blood.
and for a friend of mine, he had an alcohol problem. i recommended he seek doctors help. he told me that two elders at that time told him to read more and increase personal study and that would help take the need for drinking away.

keeping them windowless does cause less distraction as well as easier to put them up in a quicker time frame by not having to build in the windows and frame them... remember, they are quick builds or the remodel should be done as quick as possible. no windows means less outside noice, less distractions

how can anyone say someone else is going to die or at this point is it even real? i have heard people say that about others in conversations - see my post on 2012 the movie today- and they look forward to seeing people die. i think of all the bs i have had to live with, this one takes the fn cake.

i just find it interesting that 10 years ago, even 5 years ago, i would have thought that was the coolest thing to0. now, i look at it and am horrified and disgusted that so many innocent people, mothers, fathers, children, husbands, wives, friends, family, old, young, babies, etc all die because they chose to not take magazines when some strangers show up at the door.
