Official visit from two local elders one fine Sunday morning

a week ago sunday my fiancee and i were sitting in the living room drinking coffee and watching the morning talking heads when we heard the crunch of tires on the gravel in the driveaway, about 10:30 or so.

The ONE 'sin' I NEVER heard of in all my time as a JW . . . . .
by nicolaou ini never heard of any sister having an abortion - doesn't mean it didn't happen, just that i never heard of one.. i've personally known child abusers, closet gays, drunks and thieves all within my time at just 2 congregations.
i know one brother who hid the fact he had blood transfusions at a critical time.
now i'm certainly not lumping in an abortion with acts of abuse or dishonesty, and for the record i don't consider it a 'sin' (whatever that is).

I was told during my study, that even some forms of contraception like 'the pill' and 'the morning after pill' are concidered to be just like having an abortion- could you seriously be DF'd for being on the pill???

the schools minister, diana johnson, has confirmed the plans will be included in a blueprint for a new curriculum to be published in the next few weeks.. it follows a letter signed by scientists and science educators calling on the government to make the change after draft versions of the new curriculum failed to mention evolution explicitly.. if only i had been taught evolution at primary school it might have helped me to realise exactly how much rubbish my parents were spouting.. i would love to know how 'faith' schools are going to get round this?.

If they didn't teach the different theories of evolution at my son's school- I would teach him myself! I find both the 'big bang theory' and the 'steady state universe theorys' to be facinating and neither conflict with my own personal spritual beliefs- they strengthen them...
Children need to learn and study ALL the possibilities so that they can one day make up their own mind on these things...

People dont get disfellowshipped anymore
by foolsparadise inthey are announced as no longer being one of jehovahs witnesses.
why then do people still shun them if they are not disfellowshipped.
witnesses talk to non jws all the time, so we should be allowed to talk to members who are announced as no longer one of jehovahs witnesses.

I remember they made the announcemnet about changing how they would in future announce a person to be DF ( Feburary/March this year...?).
"So an so is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses"- so it would not be formally made public whether the person DA'd or was DF'd-( like there is a difference in how you are taught there how to treat So&so........)
The lady I was studing with was very quick to tell me that is very rarely that a person is DF'd and not be too concerned about it, "it is for their own good, truley".... (What a load of CRAP!)

i have homosexual friends and relatives and would like to see just one bible passage where jesus himself says "men should not lay with men".... perhaps i may have missed it- or perhaps you practice paulianity instead of christianity?????
