  Old WT Literature

  i,ve got old bound wt,s awakes and other books and mags dating back to the early 50's, it's taking up quite a bit of space and i don't know what to do with it.

  i had thought of setting it alight but i'm not sure if it would burn, it would also be a waste of a perfectly good match.

  could anybody give me any ideas please..

  my first real birthday party

  well, today is my birthday and i will be getting a real cake with a real candle - my dear bride-to-be promised not to put 43 candles on the cake.

  it is just going to be me, her, and her 8 year old (and soon to be my step) son.

  nothing fancy.

  this is one peculiarity that i never found an explanation for, as far as jw policies towards those who do not share their beliefs.

  in acts, the apostle paul repeatedly preaches the good news in synagogues.

  by jw logic, synagogues are for the jewish religion, which by this time, is a false religion, is it not?

  I always thought that Saturday was the Sabbath??? wouldn't the early Christians have been at the synagogues on saturdays??? why are JW meetings on Sundays instead of Saterdays???

  Well you and your kids are in for a real treat with this book... I'd just skip straight to the appendix and try not to get too angry while you read- as this is the publication that will teach your kids how to treat a DF'd person, Why they should not salute a flag or sing the national anthem, why your daughter will have too wear a scaf over her head and also how BAD masterbation is! (turns you gay apparently).....

  This book really opened my eyes... then I left... for good!

  i am going to buy a tv today to watch movies on and play playstation.

  i have a choice between a 73 inch mitsb.1080 hdtv or a 52 inch sony lcd/hdtv?

  the lcd seems brighter and more clear, but it is smaller.

  I'd buy the one that is more 'energy efficiant'... in Oz we have a star rating system for energy- the more stars, the more efficiant! It may turn out to be the more expencive TV- but it will cost you less to run in the long term!.....

  Intellects do not believe in God

  on our trip back home from the thanksgiving holiday spent at our home town my wife labeled me an intellect.

  normally, i would've been flattered with the title but when she called me that she was referencing the bible verse matthew 11:25. this offended me to say the least.. she said that it was hard for people like me to have faith in something because i will always investigate it and make sure of it.

  for example, if someone told me that the grass was green, she said i would not believe them and research grass and the color green to ensure that it really was.. i told her that this was absurd and that i see no reason to research whether or not the grass was green when i can see with my own eyes what color it is.

Could not the same thing be said of Charles Taze Russell? Why did he just not accept the teachings of his parents religion instead of studying the Bible for himself? Why did he not just remain a presbyterian instead of starting his own religion?"

  Great point!

  But on a personal note, I am so sorry that this 'religion' is causing so much conflict in your family.

  i do not have my watchtower cdrom installed on this box.

  i recall a quote by the watchtower some years back that said in effect;.

  "if you teach your kids about santa claus, and they find out it was all a lie, they might begin to think that what you taught them about jesus is also a lie.".

  I talk to Santa Claus once a year

  Once a year I am Santa!

  Tip- dont drink too much of the wine left out for 'Santa' before filling the stockings and wrapping last minute gifts while the kids are asleep.... 4 years ago my eldest son ended up with a barbie doll in his santa sack and my niece unwrapped her very first tonka truck! LOL

  Why is Mrs Claus so cranky? Santa only comes once a year, and even then he aint home!if you know what I mean LOL

  

  How the Angel got to be on top of the Christmas Tree?

  Santa was feeling really down one christmas eve, when the Angel came through the front door dragging a tree. "Santa, I knew you were not feeling the best this year. The elves are behind in toy orders and the raindeer all have gastro... I thought I might bring you this tree, to cheer you up a bit... where would you like me to stick it?".... and thats how the Angel got to be on top of the Christmas Tree... LOL
