by Terry ini'm sure texas isn't much different from any other state.. we want clean air.
so, the auto manufacturers came up with a glorified box of charcoal that "filters" out the pollutants (simultaneously making the energy output less efficient requiring yet more fuel) called a catalytic converter.. most cars' converter lasts about 10 years.. .
i'm driving a honda accord from 1998. the coverter has given up the ghost and i don't pass the nox tests.. so.... i can't renew my registration and have to spend about $1700 to replace that stupid box of charcoal.. .

by undercover ini've seen a few threads/posts where some of y'all have heard from jw contacts and how they've stepped up their 'the end is close' rhetoric because of the earthquake/tsunami in japan.
i usually take those things with a grain of salt.
there's always some jw whose cheese has slipped that reads prophecy into every little thing that happens.

The blessings of being disfellowshipped
by JRK indon't get me wrong, it does suck.
but after being on ex-jw boards for years, and being df'ed for almost 10; i do see some hidden blessings.. first, you do not have to struggle with fading successfully.

First, you do NOT have to struggle with fading successfully. You are just out; the cord has been cut. No suffering about losing friends, they are long gone!
You have the opportunity to move forward in life immediately. You have no fear of the elders anymore, as they have absolutely no power over you. What can they do, "Double Disfellowship" you?
I see people struggling to mix bullshit meetings into their lives that are diametricly opposed to what they now believe. I would rather have glass shards shoved up my rectum than go to another meeting.
Family wise, I really do miss my one sister that hasn't spoken to me in years. Then again, I am blessed thatI don't have to have anything to do with my other sister and her husband. I would be shunning them if it wasn't the other way around.
Just a few random thoughts . . .

i want to know what you think the exuses will be when they do not come.. harold camping is the one proclaiming may 21, 2011 as the time of the rapture and october 21, 2011 as the end of the world.
when no one disappears on may 21st, what do you think his excuse will be?
