I'm new here
by Diamonds ini stumbled across this website a few months back and have often read the topics posted but this is the first time that i've posted anything myself.. all my family are jws - i got baptized when i was 17 but started to fade when i was about 20 and finally left at 22 when i managed to escape to university and move away from home.
ten years on and i am still out of the org but never disfellowshipped (although i would have been if they'd have known what i've been up to!).
the relationship with my family is not great - i get on with some members better than others.

Greetings Diamond,
Even though you are from the other side of the pond, we are pretty much in the same place and have the same story. We are really similar in age too. When I was younger I used to be ashamed, now I am not. Although I do wonder if I should be so open. Sometimes I think I might be judged as a potential suitor due to my family being apart of such a "wheels off" religion. Guess there are worst things to be.

Is this a contradiction or is it just the way i'm reading it?
by The Finger inin the book insight on the scriptures page 996 under the subheading popular views,.
"obviously, then, although revelation 14:3 says that the 144,000 have been "brought from the earth" the context depicts them as being, not on earth, but in heaven with the heavenly lamb, christ jesus.".
this is to defeat the arguement that the 144,000 are "members of the christian congregation while on earth whereas the "great crowd" are the resurrected christians in heaven.. in the book revelation its grand climax at hand!

That made my head hurt just thinking about how or if it is a contradiction... How about we just agree it's all crap and I take an advil.

Walgreens: no new Medicaid patients as of April 16
by Yizuman inhttp://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2011367936_walgreens18m.html.
effective april 16, walgreens drugstores across the state won't take any new medicaid patients, saying that filling their prescriptions is a money-losing proposition the latest development in an ongoing dispute over medicaid reimbursement.. the company, which operates 121 stores in the state, will continue filling medicaid prescriptions for current patients.. in a news release, walgreens said its decision to not take new medicaid patients stemmed from a "continued reduction in reimbursement" under the state's medicaid program, which reimburses it at less than the break-even point for 95 percent of brand-name medications dispensed to medicaid patents.. walgreens follows bartell drugs, which stopped taking new medicaid patients last month at all 57 of its stores in washington, though it still fills medicaid prescriptions for existing customers at all but 15 of those stores.. doug porter, the state's director of medicaid, said medicaid recipients should be able to readily find another pharmacy because "we have many more pharmacy providers in our network than we need" for the state's 1 million medicaid clients.. he said those who can't can contact the state's medical assistance customer service center at 1-800-562-3022 for help in locating one.. along with walgreens and bartell, the ritzville drug company in adams county announced in november that it would stop participating in medicaid.. fred meyer and safeway said their pharmacies would continue to serve existing medicaid patients and to take new ones, though both expressed concern that the reimbursement rate is too low for pharmacies to make a profit.. the amount private insurers and medicaid pay pharmacies for prescriptions isn't the actual cost of those drugs but rather is based on what's called the drug's estimated average wholesale price.
but that figure is more like the sticker price on a car than its actual wholesale cost.. washington was reimbursing pharmacies 86 percent of a drug's average wholesale price until july, when it began paying them just 84 percent.

This is not about increased accesss to Welfare it's about what happens when you put price controls on a good in demand. Jimmy Carter did this to gas. Everyone wanted gas prices capped, so the federal government did it. The result... Long fuel lines and rationing.. Why? Well why sell something for less than what it is worth + what it took you to pump it + what it cost for you to transport it + plus what it cost to refine it+ plus enough profit to make the reward (profit) worth the risk (your investment)...
After this we removed price caps on fuel... I have seen a gas station out barring a storm. Yes sometimes I pay 3.50 a gallon. Sometimes I pay 1.30 but it's there....

Basic macroeconmic theory... You put price controls on something and if people can't make a profit on it they won't bother to produce it anymore.

I smell a conspiracy, was this the governing body breaking in to steal old bound volumes and books with "old light".... They broke in the Asshole Christedom church down the street to make it look random... That's my theory.
