Embarrassed by Aggressive Apostates

xjw protests & videos.

.. i am disturbed by some of the more aggressive apostates posting videos on youtube,like "a jw memorial to remember" where a drunk man goes to a memorial and downs the whole glass of wine as a sort of protest.

this video and others like it received positive comments from aawa members.

I find some of the behavior puzzling, it makes me uncomfortable. But I am not responsible for what other ex JWs do, we are not one group, just individuals trying to recover as best we can from our time in a destructive cult. Current JWs buy the Watchtower lie that we are angry and bitter, so they can hardly think any less of us.

That sums it up right there. We may have similarities with our experiences in the Org but the reason we left is too have FREEDOM from that oppression. You escape one label to be put under another. What would be the solution to this? Have a Governing Body of Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses? It may be embarrassing to see what some ex-JWs do but at the end of the day they're their own individual. THAT'S something the Watchtower never let us be.

Holy_Cheeses is right. There is no grade of apostates to the Jdubbs. How can one "apostate" give ALL apostates a bad name when ALL apostates are viewed as evil by the Jdubbs? When I was in the Borg, I always thought of Apostates being the sly talking people who slipped in hateful speech about the Borg like "Satan's tactics" of tricking people into lies. I didn't think there must be "good apostates". Let's be honest with ourselves about this Borg. The people that are in and want to leave, leave because they are SICK of what's in that Borg.

this is the story of how i ended up here on this site.... .

i was stuck in a situation where reaching out took forever, an eternity.

it was ridiculous - no matter what i did, there was always more to do.

Before I left the Borg, I seened situations like yours. Where there was a Brother who had been reaching out for Elder and kept getting turned down. He eventually left and became a "apostate". While it is good that people leave that cult. The reasons people leave in your situation are transparent to the Witnesses that are still in. It adds to their perception of people who leave the "truth". The funny thing to me is when you have Brothers who don't care about reaching out as much and they get pressured to get positions. The ones who don't want it get it and the ones who want it don't. What a Org that is? 😯 They always cry about needing help to strengthen and make new Congo's and end up pushing men out because of their bad judgements

I have family members who are JW and from what I've seen, that shit fits right in the description of a cult. They cant date anyone outside their religion, cant celebrate anything not even their birthday, they'll even tell yu to kick your own child out of your house if they dont become a member. they'll wright your name on a slip, and then keep going back until you or someone answers the door. Plus behind your back they laugh about you saying "People scared to answer their own door." That's why they think the average Christian is not a true one - because they never "defend" their stance. it's always "I have my own religion" or "Not interested" they believe they have the ONE TRUE RELIGION. But if you research them and their movement, it's easy to prove to them that they are false prophets.

@Bungi Bill LMAO that's a straight forward response. I wasn't claiming that the "householder" question was the most intelligent response but a simple one. It could make these witnesses think a little about converting people away from their beliefs.

i remember reading a thread when my exit was starting, about inspirational songs.

someone posted a link to the "shins" for a fool.

this was a surprising help to me.

This song is kind of comforting when I'm down until.....I hear that one line, "if happiness is the truth". That's the ONE thing I hate about that song.

JW parents are CRAZY

hello again, for those who don't know me i'm a 15 year old boy.

and recently my mom is displaying symptoms of demensia, she left the stove on today and she yells at us for watching commercials on t.v that are "demonic" because today there was a commercial on television for the new 300 movie and she started yelling at my sister to turn it off, and then i was listening to coldplay as a playlist while doing my school work and she started yelling at me to turn the demonic music off.

It's good that you realize the religion is full of lies. I understand the problems with your family. I would advise you to still respect your mom. You should make plans of what you want to do when you get out of high school. College being a big part. For the time being, try to deal with your family until your 18. Peace Demo

Syncis....sounds like another MLM scheme

my sister who is 26 and a jw, recently quit her job to join this "company" that helps people invest for retirement.

she has a masters and was working in education.

now she's sold on syncis.
