Why do Jehovah's Witnesses contemplate suicide?
by Sirius Dogma inhere is an excerpt from an article i was reading.. you can read the full and much longer version here.. http://www.jwinfoline.com/documents/death/suicide.htm.
a problem common among jehovah's witnesses is the feeling that they are not going to make it to live past armageddon.
even though they keep a rigorous schedule of activities designed to earn them a righteous standing with jehovah, the witnesses themselves are keenly aware that they fall far short of the perfect standard set by god.. why do so many jehovah's witnesses consider suicide at one time or another?

Same reason people who arent JW do it. They see no way out, no other alternative. I too thought about it when my family first disowned me and kicked me out of their home. I thought that there was no way I could possible survive without the only life I had ever known, the only friends I had ever known, and the only family I had ever known.
For others the guilt of displeasing Jehovah and not being able to rectify their life enough to survive Armegeddon is too much. The guilt trip that is laid on imperfect people is ridiculous. Call it soul searching, call it divine intervention, call it an emotional breakthrough, call it a coincedence. Whatever you want to call it, one day I just woke up and realized deep in my soul that the JWs werent right and I had nothing to fear. That was the happiest day of my life, and I've never had such a dreadful thought since.

I watched it last night. Well I missed the first airing so I had to stay up till nearly 2 am to watch it. I gotta say I was really disappointed with Moore. Here's the thing, Bill O'Reilly had watched F-9/11, he was prepared for everything Moore would discuss. Moore did not seem very prepared at all. He brought nothing new to the table. All he did was repeat things he had already said in the movie. I did not like the way he skirted issues and changed subjects, like when he got backed in to a corner regarding WWII.
And it's funny to watch 2 grown men talk in circles and repeat themselves over and over again for 8 minutes. Even though I liked F-9/11 and support Moore and many of his views, he certainly did not come out as vindicated. If I had to call it, I'd most certainly say Bill won that one.
On a side note, during his Afleck interview, it irritated me that Bill when on and on about Bush bashers and name calling, and then at the end told Afleck to share an idea with his "Pin Head Democrat Friends". Kinda reminded me of watching a JWD discussion :)

WoW! I'm glad you found out what was wrong and how to fix it early enough. Steroids are bad news. And many people take supplements and "protein" shakes without doing their homework. They figure if they can buy it in a health food store it safe. It isnt.
How lucky you and your son are that it wasnt worse. *muah* and a sigh of relief

CRR. First of all CONGRATULATIONS!
<----- is disappointed
Secondly, if this is a new relationship, I'd say dont drag her in to. It might scare her off. Do you still live at home? That may make for a complicated situation. Only way I was able to avoid them was to move.

Your Thoughts On Headship In Marriage.
by Flash ingod said at genesis 1:26-27.

Well ... I think NO MARRIAGE ... NO HEADING
Amen to FBF!!!
However, I now this may sound surprising to some, but I consider myself a fairly traditional person when it comes to marriage. I love keeping house and cooking dinner, and embracing my maternal instincts. The beauty with this is that I already know that I'm capable of taking care of myself and earning a good living on my own. Therefore those things that I believe a woman should do in a marriage are done out of respect and love NOT out of obligation. But I also want to marry my partner, not a father. And the JWs put men in more of a father role of their wives. When I was engaged it irritated the hell outta me that if someone had an issue with me, they took it to my fiance instead. It was like once I got married I was suppose to offer up my identity to my husband. Well we didnt get married. 'Nuf Said.

The Time Travel Tale of John Titor -- Brilliant Internet Hoax?
by Country Girl inif any of you are bored and want to read a very fascinating tale of what i think is one of the more interesting internet hoaxes, there is the story of john titor.
the web site says:
"although there is debate over the exact date it started, on november 02, 2000, a person calling themselves timetravel_0, and later john titor, started posting on a public forum that he was a time traveler from the year 2036.

Fascinating...... I cant wait for the civil war this year. What a coincedence too, I just went to see the Director's Cut of Donnie Darko last night, which of course deals with a dillusional's belief in time travel.
Thanks for the link
