My parents were so mean. My parents were Jehovah's Witnesses. My mean mother used to beat me if I squirmed in the meeting. My mean parents used to beat me if I didn't want to get up early on saturday for field service. My mean parents broke a coffee pot on me when I was 7 for coloring in my bible story book. My mean parents broke a remote control on me for falling asleep while watching a Jehovah's Witness video. My mean parent's threw books at me if I laughed during famliy study. My mean parents kicked me out of a moving car when they heard from my home-school teacher that I hadn't done my homework.
My mean parents grounded me if I didn't make all my hours while auxillary pioneering. My mean parents called me a slut when someone commented that my dress at a JW wedding was a bit short.
My mean parents kicked me out of their home at 19 when I questioned their beliefs. And my mean parents didn't talk to me, up untill recently when they needed my help in a court case.
Yep..... Jehovah's Witnesses do make for mean parents

Sexual Offender in my hall.

i have a small child, so i obviously want to know.
her mom tells her a website where she can search for sexual offenders, www.criminalfiles.info.

here's a little story.... take it for what you will....
When I was 13 and my best friend at the time was 14, we got in trouble with the elders. My best friend was completely "boy crazy." She would meet guys walking down the street to school. She'd ditch school and go "fool around" with them. When her mom would go to work, she'd sneek them over and "fool around." Well my conscience started to bother me and I went to the elders.
At risk of getting in major trouble, she was baptized, she decided to play the victim. He mom just couldn't beleive she would be doing this for no reason. Her mom asked her if she had ever been molested. My friend came up with this elaborate story of touching. She accused her sister's husband, who was 10 years older, of having a relationship with her. I knew this was completely not true. He was a ministerial servant. His wife was gorgeous, and they had 2 small children. I had known him my entire life.
I called my friend out on it later. She admitted to me that she had made it up. Meanwhile, his wife was told about. She freaked out and left with the kids. His parent's freaked out. And he was removed as a MS. I told them that my friend admitted to making up the story. It took years for him to live down the accusation.
While I'm not defending the guy in your hall. I absolutely believe that 14 and 17 year olds are capable of making things up. I remember what I was like at 14. I certainly knew too much. And even today's 10 year olds are so far from innocent.

Seattle - Press Conference Success - Pics
by Trauma_Hound inwe had a total of 5 people show up, including myself, bruce baker presented the lamb, and left a press packet on the door, with copys of the new york times articles.
i got some pictures and video, and we had a reporter for the seattle times, and komo tv 4 show up, they both talked with us for almost an hour.
it was great to have a couple of people share they're personal experiences about being molested with the reporters.

how does one usually get picked for this talk?
generally, during an elder's meeting, one elder will have his pet peeve.he convinces the body that this issue has to be handled by the body.

I thought the number was at 23,000. That's quite a difference in statistics.

We once had a talk about "pork chop" side burns. There was a trend in our hall of the younger brothers wearing thick sideburns. The elder said that any wearing "pork chops" wouldn't be able to assist in privledges. The dumb, followers all had brand new hair cuts by the next meeting....
When I started the uproar in my hall, they gave a local needs talk about the importance of using the Society's literature for research..... and not sociallizing with "worldly" people.
When I got my first tattoo, they gave a whole talk about from the platform. No one else had done it. But suddenly it was a "local" need. They completely singled me out. Everyone knew it was about me. My mom cried.....
I think that was the last meeting I ever went to

Is it possible to fall out of love....and married?
by Lost Diamond ini would like to know what your opinions are and i would really appreciate some input.. i have been re-married for two years, but along the way there has been some deep hurts, although no infidelity.
he claims that he loves me, but i do not feel the same way for him as i once did.
i was married to a verbally abusive husband for 11 yrs, and i'm wondering if maybe i just wasn't ready to remarry so soon, and the hurt my current husband has caused has rubbed some old wounds alittle too often.. he has done some emotionally hurtful things to me in which i don't really care to go further on right now, and this has caused me to distant myself from him.
