Plucking poor, innocent, defensless, god's creatures from their natural habitat while wearing really big pants gives you your high?

What gives you your spiritual high now?

When You Were A Witness---Were You Ever On A Spiritual "High"?
by minimus ini knew soooo many jws that would get pumped up because of an assembly or elder's or circuit overseer's talk.
after hearing the reasons to pioneer, for example, some would wait in a line to get their applications from the service overseer.
some would go to their first district convention, see the "love" and want to get baptized.......were you one of those persons that ever found yourself "on a spiritual high"??

Yes that's all part of the "Brain Washing" that they use. After one assembly I went home and threw out band t-shirts because I felt it was idolotry and I threw away some records that were hard to replace. I would cut off association with people after certain talks or assemblies.
I've also noticed with my family that sometimes they become more stand-offish towards me for a a week or two after assemblies. Also my best friend's mother does the same to her. There have been times when she has refused to babysit for her (after she already said she would) when she came back from a meeting. I learned early on not to bring up certain subjects to my parents immediately after a meeting or assembly.
Good question Min

Have you ever sprain something ?
by Xandria inwell, the day started okay.. sigh.
any one have a remedy for a twisted ankle?
it is swollen on the top and the arch is tender, as well as a few toes.
-

aahhhh Xandria take good care of it and make sure it heals properly. Everyone always says that sometimes it takes longer for a sprain to heal then a broken bone. This is true in my opinion anyway. I have sprained practically anything that can be sprained. So much so taht people contstantly call me to borrow crutches because they know I'll have them.
Do everything the doctor tells you to. Be easy with it and MAKE SURE IT HEALS. If you dont you're just setting yourself up for more problems in the future, trust me I know.
I'm thinking happy thoughts for you. I was on crutches for nearly 3 months. It sucks really bad, but you'll get better muah

My old JW best friend is now Inactive
by NaruNaruChan in... and i'm surprised, because of how devout i "thought" she was, and how "in the truth" her family is.. turns out, she's bipolar (surprise, surprise, another mental disorder found in a jw) this is the one that was my best friend when i was in the "truth" and now she's totally wild...
??
i dunno guys, it just get s weirder and weirder in california.

Naru That's wonderful. It's great to be able to reunite with our old friends, especially those we share that history with. Bi-Polar is hard problem to live with. I know my sister has it and being raised a JW only added to the difficulty.
Congratulations to you! I'm sure you must be sooooo excited!

My Gay Life
by joelbear init seems millenia ago that homosexuals dared not declare that fact about them out loud for fear of being imprisoned, beaten to death or at least ostracized by society.
true, some are still ostracized, some are still beaten but more and more they are simply becoming a part of the social fabric of families, communities and society as a whole.. was it just 1969 that a handful of drag queens decided enough was enough and refused to meekly be led off to jail for the night simply for socializing with each other in a bar in new york city.
i was 11 years old when that happened and was just beginning to understand that i myself was a homosexual.

Thanks Big Tex! This thread isnt a thread to debate homosexuality, it's a thread dedicated to Joelbear's story.
