  How far can I trust my JW parents?

  my parents know how i feel about the whole religion and they now know that i will never come back.

  there is a somewhat cordial existance at this point but i feel this won't last for long.

  my wife and i regulary visit my parents and sometimes we even leave our 2 yr child at their house overnight.

  It's a terrible thing to know you cant trust family. I am in a similar situation as you. I've been helping my elderly, retired parents both financially and with everything else. I was shocked to have the rug pulled out from underneath me recently. I've come to the conclusion that they are NEVER going to change and I shouldnt try, nor ever expect them to. So I continue to live my life teh way I think is right, and I continue to help them. Even though others have argued taht I let them take advantage of me. I dont care, they are my parents, tehre's no changing that. And I do it because I love them, and it makes me feel good.

  can't get over how good the new jet album get born is...there's a definate t-rex resurrection revival going on here....with a little ac/dc thrown in for good measure ..its awesome...some amazing acoustic guitar based guitar ballads too- a real ecclectic mix that hangs really well together..got to have the headphones on though as its got to be loud..now all i have to do is hope they get better before glastonbury.

  When I'm online at my computer I pretty much just listen to whatever weird music Ignored One has sent me

  If I'm at home and deep in to a book I like to have the tv on very very low so that I cant hear any words, just that faint pitch that a tv turned on sounds like. I know that sounds really weird, but it helps me relax. I cant have any music on in the background when I settle down to read

  Ex Music

  because i love music so much, i wanted to start another thread on it.. what songs remind you of your ex?

  the ones you have to turn off before you... a) cry your eyes out... b) get so angry you would like to curse out loud, or... d) you dont care, you like to be reminded of your past flings.. for me it would have to be anything from seal, or hootie and the blowfish, and anything jazz.

  i dont a,b, or c, but i do get annoyed and dont like to be reminded so i switch the station.. anyone else?

  The Cult's "I've Still Got Your Face Painted on My Heart" from Gone in 60 Seconds, reminds me of an Ex. It was a lovely sweet, tender, moment in his truck, in the mountains, on a summer's evening with a sky bright with stars. Everytime I hear that song I will forever remember that moment.

  I'm still a Morrissey and The Cure fan, but it does remind me of my ex-fiance, he was a freak about them. That's ALL we EVER listened to.

  i finally feel like there is someone out there that understands what i'm going through.

  my ex-girlfriend (and still best friend) try to understand but she just can't.

  she supports me in being strong but it's just nice to vent to people who have been through the same thing.

  Hi Jared! I'm glad you found this place too. This is a wonderful place with such a vast variety of people. But we all share the same stories regardless of our background. It's good to have people around who relate and can understand you. I know what you mean about feeling lonely. My sister twice tried to "come back" simply to have a relationship with her family. Dont compromise who you really are for it. There are wonderful "worldly" people out there. In may take time but you will develope new friendships and relationships. I'm sure you will enjoy yourself here and have lots of fun. You'll learn some things, laugh your ass off. And in time hopefully come to realize that there is a great social life to be had outside of the witnesses. And tehn eventually you'll turn in to bitter old mean people like the rest of us. Just kidding of course.

  Cilantro too. People think I'm weird because i like to just eat it whole by itself. I walk around teh house with whole pieces of cilantro hanging outtta my mouth :)

  Sushi! Some people like it, but most dont, it's an aquired taste. I eat any all kinds of sushi. I am currently addicted to sushi and eat it about 4-5 times a week. I thought I would get over my addiction months ago, but I still crave it like mad.

  Also when I cook, I love to put spinach in EVERYTHING. And I have a Japanese hot sauce with a rooster on teh front of it, that I put in EVERYTHING as well.
