What Freedoms Do You Enjoy That You Couldn't As A Witness?
by minimus inas jws, we were in bondage to the organization, its rules and its whims.
now, we do not have to follow their direction and believe that whatever we were being told was by "theocratic" arrangement.. so, what freedoms do you have now that you have been liberated?.

All of the above is fantastic, but I last night particularly enjoyed going to a Cancer benefit, without guilt.

Do I respond to Reniaa's constant snooty comments on threads. Guess I will do what I always do, move on.

One of my boyfriend's best friend died over the weekend. It was really sad. He was 36, never married, no kids, and pretty lonely. Very sweet and quiet guy. When we saw him on Friday night, he went home, saying he didn't feel good. Although he was massively obese, we thought he was in good health. He was supposed to be at the 4th of July parade on Saturday, but he never showed. We assumed he was just still sick, or just busy. He was found Monday morning by a group of local JW's that found him dead in his truck. I am sure my Mom thinks it is divine intervention that he was found, since he lived alone. Anyways, she had to give me just awful gruseome stories about how he was found. It is just sick and disrespectful. I can't figure out her obsession with the ishy details. I am wondering, is she losing her mind to Alzheimer's, or are other JW parents like this? I hope it's just my Mom. YUCK!!

I can't imagine they would use him for anything, despite his talents. I have heard how brothers go to bethel having a degree in something special, and they have him do everything BUT what he has a knowledge of. Supposedly it is to humble them.

Did You Feel The Love As A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus inother than feeling "love bombed" when you first started associating with the "brotherhood", did you experience the "love" in your years within the organization?.
if you felt truly loved, was it in reality, a "conditional love"?.

I tried to convince myself that this was the most loving place to be. But over time, I could see that my friends had a come and go love. Some were there, some faded, and never wrote or called. What's worse, some were quick to stab in the back. I believed I deserved that at the time.
Also my family has disappeared. When there were moments that I truly needed them, they were not around.

My boyfriend introduced me to a couple that he has been close to off and on for several years. I immediately loved the wife, who is cool, outgoing and fun. We just clicked. Shortly after I met them, my BF tells me that the couple is having marriage problems. She has a Facebook accoutnt which is a very sore subject. It is how her and I communicate oftentimes. Supposedly she is texting other men, and chatting online via Facebook. My BF, who has been the victim of being cheated on thinks that Facebook is for cheaters. At first I dumped my account in lieu of his feelings about it. Then I discovered that I am nothing like his ex wife. I reopened it. Some people use networking paged to cheat, I use mine to connect to my friends. He has seen my page, and has my password. Still, he is concerned.
My point is, and I pointed this out to my BF, that if our friend is looking to cheat, she's going to do it. She doesn't need a social networking page or a cellphone. It will be the PTA, her job, or even at her church. She will find what she is looking for. If removing the page would overcome her marital problems, then by all means, do it, to restore trust and faith. But I think their problems are deeper than just the internet or a cellphone.
Just so you know, I did start to back off from my friendship with her. He gets really mad when I say that I have talked to her. I wish he wouldn't have introduced them to me. But I do begrudge the inuendo that Facebook people are cheaters. Your thoughts?

Ex jw wife
by sspo ini find it interesting that i posted about 16 days ago concerning whether i should write a letter and.
allow my ex wife to be free and marry.. saturday night she called out of the blue ( maybe there is a god upthere looking down) after 3 years of not talking to her and she wants to meets.. we met last night and after small talk about how we are both doing and family stuff, she asked me if i would write a letter.
freeing her or releasing her from our marriage without admitting adultery, since i don't believe in the bible anymore,.

IDRNOMO: Your counsel is the best on this thread!
I do agree that your wife (ex) may be looking for an opportunity to remarry. She will come out smelling like a rose, and you will be the family poophead, once again. I don't know how your kids will take you writing or not writing the letter. If you do write it, you are almost writing them off. At least that is the way some youngsters think. Okay, so let's suppose you don't write it. Will your ex wife remarry? Can she hold out, and remain chaste, without the letter? If she marries anyways, is she liable for the same scrutiny that you were under? I think time always gives clarity. Give it time, sort it out. It's been three years. What's a few more weeks of mulling it over? Personally, I wouldn't do it.
