Sisters crying in the kitchen/lobby
by highdose inyears ago i was at the revamp of a kingdom hall.
one of the sisters told me that since they got rid of the kitchen it was so much better, becuase there were always sisters out there crying!
and now they have no place to go, so they just have to stay in the hall and listen to the meeting!.

did i mention that the sister who told me about not allowing the sisters to cry, ... later that same sister found out that her elder ( pillar of the congo) husband had been haivng an affair with a young sister and had got her pregnant!
The young sister for her part when she realised that her family were about to shun her, tried to claim that he had raped her, she ended up being forced by her family to go to court to sue him for rape, but eventualyy she had to concede that it wasn't rape....
what a fine example(!)

it rang alarum bells for me at the time, also because i realised this was a regular thing at my hall too! Does anyone else remember this happening at theirs?

Do you ever turn off the music?
by compound complex ingreetings fellow music lovers:.
given the numerous "name your favorite tune" threads that are posted here on jwn, it appears that none of us can live without la belle musique.

poker face by lady gaga is my fav du jour. mostly becuase i know that the JW's would hate it, and that there will probably be conusel soon from the GB not to listen to her.

Impossible to concentrate!
by highdose inlooking back on my time as a jw i found that i sat at the meetings just willing the time to go past and just trying to get through it.
there would be a blip were i would concentrate on getting my answer in, just so that others didn't look down on me even more than they already did, but after that i would go back to sleep.. the thing is i was a very serious jw, and really did want to pay attention... i just found it to be impossible, 5 mins at the max and then drift away.... i even perfected the art of staring intently at the speaker while having my mind very much elsewhere.
and i wonder now how many jw's are actauly listening at all?.

Certainly when i've informed them recently of the new light, none of them had actualy heard of it!

Why is Eve the bad "guy"?
by highdose injust a thought.
lets just say for a moment that we belive the bible account of eve eating the forbidden fruit.
the bible clearly states that she was decived and thats why she ate.

is that enough for Paul to basicly condem women forever? ( they can't teach etc, the spend their time gossiping etc, rules about what they kind wear etc) and of course the WT takes its cue from Paul and expands further

just a thought. Lets just say for a moment that we belive the bible account of eve eating the forbidden fruit. The bible clearly states that she was decived and thats why she ate. Adam on the other hand wasn't decived and ate the fruit with full knowledge of what he was doing, he even tried to pass the buck later and blame his wife.
But it is Eve that is villified by the WT and other religons... why is that?
