i try not to think about my time there with regret, it would only make me depressed. Theres nothing that can change history, whats done is done. All that matters is now and what you do with your life now, you now have a chance to have a amazing life, if you seize that chance or not is up to you...

Living With Regret - what do YOU regret about being in the org?
by babygirl30 in1. getting baptized at 14 and not knowing what the heck i was 'signing' up for.
2. dating worthless, lazy, no work ethic, selfish 'brothers' who were supposedly approved all because they were baptized - but in the end - were a waste of my time and younger years in dating.. 3. subjecting my bf (back in the day) who was a non-jw to the whole jw experience!
i demanded that he study, i demanded that he change his religion in order to be with me, i made him sit with my parents and listened to them berate him (and myself) while they fed him all their haughty beliefs and requirements in order to date their jw daughter.

What Are Your Thoughts On The Apostle Paul?
by cognac ini find him very confusing and difficult to figure out sometimes.
evidently, peter did also.
anyways, i find him a bit harsh and unloving in the way he deals with the congregations and i was shocked how he rebuked with peter.

how to the dubs explain away the dino's?
by highdose inhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1223244/colossal-sea-monster-unearthed-eaten-t-rex-breakfast.html.
you can't ignore this, yet there is nothing about it in the bible.
i noticed that the jw's seem to just brush over it, since they clearly can't explain it away or pretend its false!.

nelly, gillingham, has been going for some years now. I think it was moved to avoid the costs of the london stadiums. Gillingham is awfull, the parking is bad, the traffic caused by it all is terrible, there is no area to walk around in, and it gets loads of rain.

my cong was very keen on having the meeting no matter what. I remember one occasion when we had a power cut in the middle of winter. Due to the fact that there was no windows to the hall (!) they opened the fire exit doors and the speaker stood with his back to the doors that were letting in the freezing cold wind, he read the talk with the aid of a torch, and everyone sat there getting more and more blue.
Another time the air con packed up in the middle of summer, it was like a sauna in the hall! we had about 5 people faint due to the heat, but the meeting went on...!

Does anyone remember Crystal place assemblies? The Jubliee stand was THE stand to be in, because it got the shade in the afternoon, wereas all the other stands would be frying. I rember there was a mad insane dash for those seats everyday. One family i know came back from lunch break to find all their bags had been thrown in the asile and someone else had taken their seats!
Of course the nice thing about Crystal place was that the park ( with the dinosuars) was just next door, and in theory you could hear the program from there... on the other hand of course you could just wander around in the cool shade;)
I remember that the eldery/infirm section and the mother and baby section was for many years right in the spot were it would be swealtering heat all day! but at least you could walk around the place. Now where the nazi attendents really came into their own was at Gillingham and Twickenham assemblies, were you would be constandly barked at to keep moving, " do you really need that seat sister?" and " your not allowed in this section!"
ahhhh happy days (!) i'm sure other brits will have better memories than mine...?

London Cystal Place:
Anyone remember the danish pasties? oh and those yummy bars of chocolate? I can remember buying "meal tickets" those little brown strips of paper you traded for those foil containers full of curry or somthing.
Haysbridge assmbly hall, Surrey:
I can remember all the sisters baking things to donate for lunches there, masses of masses of cakes! they would all be set out on the counters of te food halls and the sisters would actauly have somthing to do EG orgainising food etc.

its given me a reality check of what JW's are still like....

nobody ever meets anybody at JW assmeblys, everyone sticks together in their little groups and gets barked at by the attendents to break it up and move on.
I don't know why they don't just get them all marching around the statium!
