i also used to wonder why i never heard of an apostate coming back to the JW's? shame i never followed that thought up...
so far quite dissappointed from what i've seen.
this is very very important, first i"ll address the non/ex jw then i'll address the jw's (jw's scroll down if don't wanna see the first part).
i see so many who have concluded that it was not 'god inspired', a lot of what is being done, and their conscience told them that many things conflicted with jesus teachings and the bible.
well it was about time we got another angel eyes/son of man charater on here... its been a few weeks now at least...

if you moved, how did you move without the elders trying to chase you down and send your information to a new congregation?
i emigrated to another continant. Told my privous cong i'd let them know when i'd settled and found a permenat cong....
thus no one here knows i was a JW in my past life, and when the JW's do see me out and about they just assume i'm another worldly ex pat... they have no idea
having said that i'd found in recent months that my freinds in the old cong have stopped keeping in touch with me, whether thats because of " out of sight out of mind" or because no request has been made for my record card i don;t know

the koolaid wt issue for february has an interesting article about when your baptism can be considered invalid.but the main thrust of the article is aimed at making it super clear that if you were present at your bapt.
talk and answered the two questions then forget about it, elders are put on notice to not let anyone off the hook.but... if you were committing a serious sin and hid it at the time of your baptism, then it was invalid, and point is, they'd still announce you not being "one of j.w.s" so if you plead your case to walk away from the wt saying you didn't know what you were getting into, it will do no good, but it will be grounds for an announcement.just ol' mother wt tightening up loose ends.
