Horror Movies
by highdose inquestion: do you find you are able to watch horror movies now that you are out?
i am not, the years of expecting impending doom and persecution has taken its toll too much.
i am now unable to emtionaly distence myself from what i see on screen.. is this unusual?.

How many "no's" do you think the average JW gets in a lifetime?

how many rejections " i'm not interested" , "go away" , " no's" in other words all rejections do you think the average jw gets?
theres only so much of that a person can take isn't there?.

JW in Wal-Mart Parking Lot - I couldn't believe it
by RubaDub ini'm on my way home from work and had to detour due to an accident on the highway.
i passed a wal-mart and instead of just sitting in the traffic, i pulled in to get some stuff i needed for the garden.. on my way out, i spot someone who appears to be selling something (rather common in parking lots here in south florida).
anyway, as i got closer, here was a brother sitting in a lawn chair under a tree on one of the little grassy areas where they plant the trees in the parking lot.. at his side, he had pulled a wal-mart shopping cart up on the grass.

JW views on Mental Health & Counseling
by Confuzzled ini am considering getting couples counseling for the jw boyfriend and i. he's open to it.
he got help himself for an issue recently, but it was in the short term, and it went well for him.
i want to know if we started going regularly, and his mentor got wind of it, what are the jw views on mental health help?

The JW's are not keen on counseling, in fact i think back in the early 90's there were alot of scare storys in the mags about how counselors make you remember things that never happened(!) and that for that reason they were very dangerous.
I think they mellowed slightly in recent years but the offical advice is still to go to the elders first. Afterall they must be a aware that any counselor worth their salt will hear that your trying to make things work in the face of a mind controling cult and want to deprogram you.

let me illustrate some terms they use:christian congregation,jehovah's congregation,jehovah's organization(gb/wbts)=wt trinity.. world=live w/o moral restraint,are unsatisfied,unhappy,threatened by crime,violence,advancing age,ill health,no hope,etc,.
wt trinity=true christians are not immune to these problem.. world emotional security=proved elusive,many who hope to find peace and fulfillment in marriage have found their expectations gone unfulfiiled.however, in jehovah's organization its the only way of life that brings happiness.. ask the happy married(full-time ministers of jehovah) couples:margarita/raul,jane and her husband,monique and her husband,of immorally,betrayal,abuse,emotional humiliation,financial distress,etc,what happened .. wt trinity=solution to this problem sweep in under the rug by disfellowshipping.help offered go in field service.also you want mates to snitch on each other so you can solve the problem quickly ie disfellowship instead of counsel.. spiritually=churchgoers have been left bewildered and disoriented,questioning the value and guidance ot their religious leader.

I went to the market today, in front of me at the till were a British ex pat couple, i would have loved to introduced myself and maybe made freinds, but i just couldn't!??
Then theres all the times i've seen a cute guy and wanted to say hello, but just been shaking in my shoes too much to do it!
Maybe its a British trait? Maybe its just me? I'd love to know if theres a way to over come it?
... well there is one way... it involves a few glasses of wine, but thats not ideal!

i'm not sure what point your trying to make here?
Certainly the WTBS have always had their own werid terminology. If they are increasing this useage thats good, as it will only make them seem more werid and cult like to outsiders.

So close, they're saying it every meeting?
by CrimsonAshes inwas listening to the meeting on the phone tonight, and the second half, after the song, one of the announcements said about the gt.. at first i thought they said "great tribulation one day away," but then i listened to the rest, and realized it was "great tribulation is one more day near.
" either way....they're saying it at every meeting now?
and the reason it was an announcement was because they were announcing baptisms.

Lets face it , of the people sitting in that hall probably only 1/3 were listening. The people that were are so brain dead that they would agree with anything.
They can only cry wolf for so long though, 2014 is acoming..... the WTBS's biggest ememy is themselves

I can't spell sew sue me :p
by highdose innever have been able to, its just something i can't do.
some people can't whistle, sing or make lump free gravy... i can't spell.
i am dislexic and long ago gave up worrying about not being able to spell and instead concentrated on getting the idea accross instead.. i managed to get through collage and uni without being able to spell and now am a sucessfull business woman who misspells her emails to clients ( mind you they mispell their replys).
