  We Former JW's Are Not Good At....

  Trying to get back to college

  Jeff, I could have been in graduate school by now. I'm having trouble getting back to school part-time to earn a lousy trade. I'm too afraid to go for a long degree because I'll never be able to pay off loans and I'd like to do the family/kids thing. If I went to school years ago I could have done both but now I gotta sacrifice something.

  With everything else, I'm good. I have so much self-esteem I should box it and sell it on ebay. Some people call it arrogance. But those people are obviously just not as intelligent as me.

  i know i got bothered by all the self righteous music police who would condemn me or others for our awesome record collections from early years as a teenager .

  several experiences were really quite odd .

  one brother came up to me saying i was wrong to listen to the moody blues " nights in white satin "!

  SANTANA album "Evil Woman" was considered evil music in 1972.

  Ugh. Reminds me of the sister who thought that Santana's name was meant to reference Satan. I believe that the majority of dubs are intelligent people who got conned into wacky beliefs but they also have their share of as$-munching morons.

  Ouch, sweater vests? How hot do you think it was? You can tell which men are worldly based on the length of their sleeves. I see they follow the worldly trend of not letting fat or unattractive women act. Thanks for posting this. I wondered what the fruity music sounded like.

  District Convention Drama Formula (modern day)

  remember, the gb picks the theme, approves the script, etc...... so a modern day drama will start out typically with.

  husband getting home from work,.

  wife has meal ready, unless she is a bad wife, which will be noted throughout the drama.

  I knew a sister who was alone in a van while the other members of her car group were taking a long time at the door. She really had to go. Fortunately, she had her kid's diapers in the car.

  !...i was spoonfed this from the birth, but you must feel really stoopid if bought into this as an adult and joined this outfit.....(let me know, cause i would feel stoopid and feel stoopid for not walking in 1995 when they decided the the generation of 1914 was not a real generation)....notice they continue this mindfluck teaching even after 1995....oompa.

  In my case, that means I was craving for difference as much as a "born-in" JW kid can crave for normalcy.

  I was a born-in and I liked being different, at least by the time I was a teenager. I was never as pretty or charismatic as other kids, in or out of the dubs and I developed an attitude of "if you can't join them, beat them." My plan was to be the ultimate jw. Since I couldn't be as good as people in other areas I would just have to have the most approval from God. And I loved being special. Like Barnum said, any publicity is good publicity. Being singled out in school for not being able to participate in an activity was my bread and butter.

  If The Bible Is The Word Of God...

  many here have abandoned the bible as "the word of god" and there are numerous reasons for said abandonment.

  however what i am interested in finding out is if the bible is the word of god, then what would you expect to find?.

  I would not expect page upon page of repetition and irrelevancy. How many cubits is that wall in the temple again? I feel sorry for the elders who had to come up with 10 minutes worth of things to say about that crap.
