LouBelle, that's a good point. The JWs are fond of using this illustration about "false religion". Would you eat food that was tasty and nutritious if it had even one drop of poison in it? Why can that illustration not be applied to them? Even if we assume they have the basic body of teachings right (which most of us believe they do not) consuming the entire thing would mean being poisoned. By their own standards, they must have EVERYTHING right.

I'm your only friend
I'm not your only friend
But I'm a little glowing friend
But really I'm not actually your friend
But I am
Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
I have a secret to tell
From my electrical well
It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells
So the room must listen to me
Filibuster vigilantly
My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e
My story's infinite
Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest
There's a picture opposite me
Of my primitive ancestry
Which stood on rocky shores and kept the beaches shipwreck free
Though I respect that a lot
I'd be fired if that were my job
After killing Jason off and countless screaming Argonauts
Bluebird of friendliness
Like guardian angels its always near
Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet

To have a personality split off, it would take some hell of a traumatic experience, when you were younger.
I was raised as a witness. Does that count?
No booze and no drugs. If I'm crazy, it's the sober kind. Sober crazy. That would be an excellent name for a rock band.

Confessed my Doubts to my Wife
by cantleave inwell - i today i had the opportunity to tell my wife i no longer believe in the things that i have spent my life immersed in and that i didn't want my life run by 9 geriatrics in brooklyn.. her reaction was understandable her first questions was "what have you been reading"?.
i didn't mention this site but told her i was shocked by something i heard regarding the wts's ngo status with the un, dissapointed by the new light on the generation and disturbed by the flip flopping on blood fractions.
i explained how these things were at best hypocritical and at worst have meant some people have lost their lives unnecessarily because of the societies previous position.

Sounds like a great start. If I were in your shoes, I would bring up the issue of Jesus choosing them in 1919 and what they taught at that time. But you know your wife. Discuss whatever you believe is most likely to make her think. Good luck!

where I apparently posted a very amusing video. Only I didn't post that. So either someone posted it under my name (unlikely), I posted it while under possession of another consciousness (I leave the liklihood of that to your imagination) or, due to a technical issue, someone else's post is coming up with my name. I can't be the only one who sees it because homeschool thanked me personally for posting it.
I swear I've never seen this video before! It was pretty cute. And I saw the NWT Jeopardy episode. Is my reality warping?

NWT - Accurately translated bible rumor
by Girlie inhas anyone on here heard of this rumor or even know if this is true?
supposedly, on an episode of jeopardy, one of the questions asked was which version of the bible was considered the most accurately translated from the original hebrew and greek text and the answer was the new world translation.
i tried looking this up online to no avail.

Trebek was definitely hosting the episode I saw.

I think it was between 2002 and 2004
This was my mother's guestimation as well, but she's not sure. I couldn't even narrow it down that far.

If I knew there would be a pop quiz I would have studied! I cannot remember any other details. Just that none of the contestants got the question right. I wasn't a big Jeopardy fan. I just watched it when my mother had it on and I was in the room. She can't remember any details either. We don't remember how long ago it was. I can't even tell you that kind of detail about shows I really do like.

The question (or answer) may have been "The bible translation that Jason Beduhn decided was most accurate." That would not be biased on Jeopardy's part. I don't see why the WTS would want that covered up, unless they didn't want the witnesses to read Beduhn's book and see what he didn't like about the NWT. They've written before that they don't want the R&F trying to figure out how accurate their Bible is.
I'm not a conspiracy buff like cameo but I know what I saw, and I had a witness (no pun intended) with me. Are there other reasons a game show might selectively erase a past question?
