Good one, OTWO!
Why did the JW cross the road?
Because walking accross the road for each house helped him get more time in.
how many jws does it take to change a light bulb ?
two !
one to screw in the light bulb and the other to make sure the light gets brighter..

or did you remain in the same one since childhood?.
BC, you been in 9??? hoping atleast one of them you were happy in?
There are individuals in every hall who are wonderful people. The problem stems from the pharisaical organization. Most of those hall changes were from moves with my family, but each time I kept hoping things would be better; that I would see evidence of Jehovah's spirit operating on the congro. Never did.
especially those that no longer go to any meetings, but even those that still go- how much wt literature do you read or scan over?.
blondie does her weekly study article comments.
flipper started commenting on articles in upcoming issues.
i have Jahs protection, and even saying the name Jehovah frightens satan away.
LOL!

I've been in nine.
naomi, I saw your post on an old thread but couldn't reply there. You say you used to be a Jehovah's Witness, but I'm skeptical because you don't seem to be very knowledgable about them. Did you study with them? If there are Christians of another sort in your area, I highly recommend you get in touch with them. You will have a far better experience.
right.....many of you have said certain things would get people infront of a jc but ive thought different, mainly because i know of similar cases that havent gone before jc...but whats your view on jw and finding a jw partner on the internet???
i thought it was wrong???.
apparently not!!!!!!!
There were plenty of us who used them despite being told not to. It's unlikely the elders would be aware, especially if you don't post a pic. Like Yknot says, BOEs differ.
The problem with intenet dating for JWs is that you're scraping the bottom of the barrel. Good looking sisters have no problem finding husbands so it's us homely ones that go online. A JW man worth his salt has no trouble finding a wife no matter looks or age. An apostate or fading JW can find himself a non-JW girl. So the only guys that go on those sites are the losers that hang on to the JWs and want a wifey that they can be lord over.
The men on those sites are the worst for age prejudice as well. Most of the women would take a man in a range from younger to older than them. A good 75% of the men wanted a woman up to thirty years younger--but would not consider dating a woman the exact same age as them.
As with everything else in life, online dating works better when you're not doing it JW style. I found a wonderful boyfriend on okcupid.com.
as one who grew up "in the truth", i recognized that the most important goal i could ever have was "to be used" in jehovah's service (aka the organization).
when i was a kid i pioneered every summer for at least one month, sometimes more.
i was the timekeeper for the theocratic ministry school as a child.
My brother reached out. He was given microphone duty. One day, he was pulled aside and told he was no longer allowed to do it because he didn't get enough hours in field service. No questions like, "Are you aware of the hour requirement? Do you need some help making your time?" Just summarily dismissed. I believe that was the start of his fade.
High five, ASINAC
Welcome to the board, naomi. JWs do not practice fasting. While I think that, done correctly, fasting can be good for the body and/or mind, I wonder why you feel that depriving yourself of nutrients will please God. If you've done something wrong, try to fix it. Otherwise, repentence is a state of mind, not of body.
