  Religion, a part of the American way of Life.

  found this picture on the twitter account and it makes a wider perspective to me.. the jw religion is so part of the american way of life, just like the other religions in the us.. in the jw growth rate country's there is a market for this "better" life.

  the religion makes it possible.. western europe had that marketing mix need after world war 2 and maybe a part of the cold war.. see the picture, and you know, the similarities with the jw religion, the change will be in details and not fundamental.. gorby.

  Coming to terms with the Watchtower experience

  it is a challenge coming to terms with your experience as a jehovah's witness.

  if you were born and raised as a jw, and your parents were true believers, the impact on your life is profound, lasting, and largely negative.

  in some cases quite abusive emotionally, spiritually, financially, educationally and yes, even sexually.. i recently watched "trumbo", and was quite moved by dalton trumbo's speech to the screen writers guild in 1970. here is an excerpt that i think is quite relevant to this topic:.

  New Memorial Songs Were Very Good, IMO

  i guess we can agree to differ, but i personally found the new memorial songs (147, 149) to be very good, at least from a musical perspective.

  I didn't like them. Translation into our little European language is always a problem.

  Melody was a weak version of the Lion King theme.

  It's so pathetic, the American dream.

  Gorby and his family went to the memorial. Just for family reasons. To keep the communication lines open.

  I have to say, I don't like to go but has to do it for the good sake.

  Some were happy to see us, some talked to us, and most of them didn't show any interest.

  Because of our fade I can see them now from more distance and have to say how overdone the JW

  behavior is during the memorial. They look uber people, gods personal selected people on earth with their "kingdom smile". It feels that they have no respect for people who make other choices.

  The memorial ritual is weird when you look at it from more distance. Paying respect to the bread and wine,

  knowing that it's not for you.

  When it was over, I did a little chat with some with real interest, about his electric bike, speeding

  every day through our street. Fun.

  And then we made the long walk from our chairs to our jackets and entrance through a mass of people watching you with a grimace, knowing that most of them don't give a sh*t about you and talk behind you're back when you left the building.

  Zeb, they are just selling their used equipment now the Warwick location is build.

  What I see is the continues correlation between the WTS and a trading company.

  And the enormous cost the WTS has been spending on this project. It's unbelievable they

  have own cranes and heavy machines with a worth of > 200.000 dollar each.

  We can see their priority's clearly, if you compare how much elderly and sick you can help with these funds.

  The WTS is a company.

  Now, in the memorial week, I found a new Watchtower trade Brand under the wings of Kingdom Support Service, Inc. and it's name is Hudson Valley. That's not strange. They openly use the Brand on their new website, selling all their building equipment used at Warwick.

  WTS trade with China in an earlier stage.

  with the recent thread about wts buying materials for their new warwick hq in china, i want to refer to another story some 10 years ago.. there was then a china government visit to the usa.

  they paid a visit to wts in brooklyn and did in the aftermath a return visit to china for the sake of lean production management.. wts learned the china government producing lean, and they got something in return for that.. what they got, i don't know.
