  About the JW Russian action

  what i don't get about the russian petition action:.

  watchtower launched at march, 21 the petition action.. in the instructions they write it can take 14 days for postal arrival in russia.. on april, 5 they expect legal clarification from the supreme court.. so, conclusion: the letters will arrive just around the day of clarification.. conclusion: this action is planned for media impact only.

  if it was to make judges think, (what they don't do on a petition cry), .

  Dreary,

  What I mean to say is that this kind of proces, interaction between state and religion does not work effictive by using letters by members pretending to be general public. The other side of the table knows this and it disturbes a negotiation between involved party's.

  It could be effective when there were made concessions. Like between China and the Watchtower during the 90's, when the Watchtower changed their definition of the word "Kingdom", for negotiation with the government.

  Last moment action is a sign of ineffective negotiation. Case lost.

  What I don't get about the Russian petition action:

  Watchtower launched at March, 21 the petition action.

  In the instructions they write it can take 14 days for postal arrival in Russia.

  On april, 5 they expect legal clarification from the Supreme Court.

  So, conclusion: the letters will arrive just around the day of clarification.

  Conclusion: this action is planned for media impact only.

  If it was to make judges think, (what they don't do on a petition cry),

  they are much to late. The juridical clarification proces is not done in one or two days.

  WT about elder positions

  yesterday, visited the hall for family reasons.. wt was about elder positions, educate younger brothers, delegate your work etc.

  the usual story about the body of elders, give younger people a change and don't get atached to your position.

  what was evident: 90 percent of the answers came from the sisters.. the elders looked like the house cat just eaten tweety.. never heared so much theory and knowing it will be fully ignored.. why make it a 45 minute issue for every tom, dick and harry?.

  $25,000 for one-day assembly in our area

  they started out with a $3,500 carry-over but by the end of the day they were short $25,000.

  the speaker eloquently beseeched the audience to go the atm machines and give their generous contribution or at least their widow's mite.

  after the sessions were over, our friend who attended walked from one end of the assembly hall and then to the other end and noticed long lines up to both machines with people who couldn't wait to run up their credit cards.

  the study was on how wt has refined itself over the years by ceasing celebrations of christmas etc.. paragraph 11.

  11 what a fine example those faithful bible students set for us!

  reflecting on their example, we do well to ask ourselves: ‘how do i view the direction we receive from headquarters?

  "all people in the world are currently considered enemies of god" gee i wonder where some poeple get the idea that we are an extremist organization.. " jehovahs chariot is moving forward at blazing speed!

  " in what reality is contraction and downsizing moving forward?.

  "it used to be that if a congregation reached 150 publishers we would split into 2 congregations now if we have 2 congs.

  in this wt literature illustration from a german kingdom hall, one can see that the two nonwestern jw's on the right are featured as needing to improve on their choice of clothing and become more american like the gobo wishes them all to be.. .. .

  @steve2, so it is, JW's are judges, gossip and untrue.

  Thay say "nice to see you again here" with the Kingdom smile but think "why don't you visit the hall every meeting" and "why did you not shave, you unbeliever".
