Would the Watchtower Society be Republican or Democrat, if it were political?
by Quillsky ini believe it's very republican in its outlook..

Republican or Democrat would infer some type of democracy politically. That is being too kind.
Definately Nazi.

OTWO
I feel a similar background. It's interesting that the ORG does not seem to value those who are sympathetic. If you are empathetic to the flock, especially in judicial cases, you are considered weak and of no value.
Those who are harsh and cold are considered STRONG and of high regard.
The sad thing is that this is not going to change soon.

CO visit comments: Facebook & new "generation" teaching
by sir82 injust a couple more gems from the recent co visit:.
in his meeting with elders / ms, he was warning of the "dangers" of the internet.
following is a more or less accurate quotation:.

In the April WT about "generations" it's interesting how the mind control is worded.
"Are you keeping up with new light"? Then it gives a list of changes made throughout history to see if you remember. Most of these things I couldnt remember because they werent worth remembering. The message is "if you dont remember, then its YOUR fault you stupid dumbass!
So when we f/u and make a changes in our understanding of "generation" you better hurry up and believe it or you will still be stupid.
Amazing!

What I hate most about missing the meetings...
by gutted in...is when people ask why i wasn't there.
usually i tell them, that i was sick, or not feeling well, which for the most part is true.
what is irritating is when someone presses it, especially someone you are closer with in the congregation.

No wonder so many are on anti depression drugs.

Ah, yes we are trained to be judgemental. If we notice people missing meetings and we are trained that you shouldnt miss meetings, then we feel superior to those missing meetings.
Then, we feel justified in inquiring as to their whereabouts so we can feel more superior if their answers dont measure up. We do that subtly with "we missed you". This is designed to elicit an explaination. It really means "where were you"? Since there is no valid reason for missing meetings, any explaination is invalidated.
Ah, the love.

I don't owe ANYONE an explaination...
by babygirl30 in...about why i do not want to come back (get reinstated), but i find myself defending my decision!.
i say this because an old friend of mine sent me a text late last night, asking me if i'm 'back so we can talk'?!
let me give you a lil background story, this girl is developmentally challenged, 36yrs old, can't hold down a job, drive, nor live alone.

You're right. You dont owe anyone an explaination.
But think about.......as already mentioned, JW are set up because there is no valid reason to leave the "truth". Therefore any explaination will be met by JW arguments. Therefore your explaination will be shot down. So ANY explaination will invalidated. So why give one?
Also, JW are set up in that any deviation from the "truth" is labeled in the following terms ... "leaving" "fell away" "drifted awy" "stumbled". All of these terms are used to shift the blame on the one who no longer wants to be a JW. They brand you with guilt. Not fair! Especially if you were forced out.
The problem is, there are no terms for that. Just make your own term. But dont expect JW to recognize them. They will be puzzled because they have been trained to only accept their terms.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses enjoying their new SABBATH???
by Terry inaccording to the bible timetable, man's history on earth has been nearly 6,000 years.
adam was created in 4026 b.c.e., which means that six thousand years of human history end about the fall of 1975 c.e.
we are in the great 7,000-year rest day of god, starting at the time he rested after the creation of adam and eve.

This must be why the WT articles lately are mindless drivel of "Preach, Obey, Preach Obey"
