here's the bind the gov body is in.......these are just my opinions.. to please the gen public, and to maintain a "righteous look", the gov body has to assure everyone that pedophiles and rapists will be reported to the police.. the problem;.......if they are reported to the police, the media will pick it up.
........and there are so many jw pedophiles, and rape victims, it's not just a few isolated cases.......the victims will then be questioned, and the truth about how bad the situation really is, will come out publicly.... all the details of how the elders knew about it for years and years, but allowed the abuse to continue, will come out in the courtroom.. it will all be documented........ even the gov body's secret instructions to elders will become an issue, and they will be in deep trouble.. their solution;...... keep jw pedophiles, child abuse, and rape cases out of court........at all cost!.....theocratic warfare!!!.
effect on children and rape victims; .....even more so than before, children reporting that a parent is repeatedly molesting them, will be silenced at all cost....elders not going along with this arrangement will be deleted....cold hearted brothers, loyal to the gov body will replace them.. even cases where guilt is proven will be silenced, pushed under the carpet, made out to be no big deal, for fear it ends up in a courtroom.. children will be imiediatly handed back over to the parent molester, and the molester will be instructed to make sure this young child is silenced, before anyone hears about it, and it brings reproach on jehovahs organization.

The Governing Body still exists. They supposedly handed over the oversight of the corporations to others in order to care full time for spiritual matters. They added 4 new members a couple of years ago.

The JW religion requires great sacrifice from its members. I believe as a result of this it does gather to itself those who love God above all else. Sadly, the trust and faith of these "little ones" has many times been abused by the very ones who claim to be shepherds of the sheep!!

IMO, the declaring of 1935 as some sort of cut off date for the gathering of the anointed resulted in only one thing: the spiritual strangulation of those who continued to be called by God.
Some were in effect sold into slavery like Joseph was by his older brothers. They have suffered at the hands of overbearing elders and Circuit Overseers who, having served a "long" time in the Org., went on to beat any partakers who seem to have only served a "short" time.
The Watchtower likes to cite Jesus' words at Luke 22:28 "However, you are the ones that have stuck with me in my trials", in support of their teaching that God would most likely call sons only from among those who have served him for a long time. Yet, Jesus spoke those words to men who at most had spent only about 3 years following him!!!
Ironically, the Watchtower has dried up its own well because younger ones who have been called by God and who are also capable of taking the lead, have found it necessary to leave the Organization.

right now my body is half shaven with needle marks and bruises everywhere.
if i were stopped on the streets of chicago looking like this, staggering with fatigue, i would be arrested.
something we men have a hard time getting through our thick heads is that just because we feel basically okay, does not mean that we can or should do a lot physically after a traumatic event ... and i found this out by doing a little too much walking at the hospital chest tightened, became out of breath, and got dizzy.
