That reminds me of those maps when virtually every other door that had a sticker on saying JWs not to call! Those maps were the best! With a good number having closed curtains you could get by talking to no one! Hey I had a conscience!

Is This Why JW's Hate The UN So Strongly?
by Englishman inthere has to be a reason for the contempt that jw's have for the united nations.
it just doesn't make any sort of logical sense for a religious body such as the wtbts to have such a virulent hatred of an organisation who's main interest is in maintaining a peaceful world.. they say, i recall, that it is a "sham" or a pathetic substitute for god's kingdom.
this is nonsense.

Well what are they doing? They resigned as officers of the WTS and made way for a generally younger crowd who took places in a multitude of legal corporations. The idea was that they were to concentrate on 'spiritual things'. Well the UN-NGO fiasco didn't indicate they had their eye 'on the ball'. I take the view that these guys are doing nothing or very little. They probably get wheeled around and stuff. The others, mainly of the great crowd, now probably decide the direction and needs of the Org. The 'GB' ,as was, will die out in the next 5 yrs or so. They occupy no prominent position and so likely will fade into the background. The R+F will not realise, I guess, that the JC-FDS (anointed) has evaporated. Although the WTS have said the FDS is all the anointed it has always been those anointed making up the GB.
So what are they doing? Dying.....

Hi Andrew, not sure this is what you want....but to be a 'DNC' as far as I was aware you just mention your request to the the JW that calls. They make a note and thats it! You might get a call of one the elders once a year to see that your wishes are being observed. (Is that weird...calling anyway?!)

BadWillie & Wife are the Local Needs!

the local needs talk was about...apostasy!.
this of course lets the congregation know exactly what our reproof was for.

The over-reaction can be counter productive. How many had the same thoughts etc. as you but did not get sanctioned for it? I still don't know why they reproved you? Only in America..............lol!

Hey Billy, what exactly did you take offence at? Was it the expose of the WT re. its UN-NGO affiliation? Was its non-sensical blood policy? Was its history of false/misleading utterances..that have left every generation disappointed? Was it that folks here can say what they want without fear of reprisals...unlike yourself? Want to argue the real issues that enslave so many today to a futile life that will end in despair?

that word somehow carries along with it a negative sense of destruction and hate.

The critiscm of the WTS is usually justified...don't you think!? If not...the WTS can argue instead of trying to silence us. If you set yourself out to be 'Gods messenger' etc and you turn out to be full of crap...folks are entitled to call it. It is the same critique the WTS expects others to have when analysing their own religion with a view to changing to the WTS.
