I am an advanced a Excel user. You aren't going to be able to write a decent formula without Algebra. So yes, I use my schooling all the time. That Excel analysis means I can extract trends from large data sets, which my bosses value.

Where to go from here...
by Patrickday ini'm new around here, but i've been browsing the site the last few days in hopes of finding the answer to the situation i've been going through, so hopefully you can help me.
i met this girl in highschool, but never really spoke with her until about a year after i graduated.
she's three years younger (however it's legal where i'm from, don't fret) and still a teenager.

The WT does not allow for extended courtship or casual dating. Their extreme view is boy+girl(alone)=sex. But of course sex outside marriage is bad, bad, bad. There is lots of pressure to marry fast and young. So even if your intentions are friendly and casual, she will not be approaching this casually.

I'm shocked!! I think I found the REAL reason for no voting, for tons of preaching and no public charity!! The IRS and taxes!
by EndofMysteries inthe wt controls every part of it's members lives.
now if they really allowed voting, then obviously since they have the only channel to god, they would be expected to provide guidance as to who is the best candidate and best party, etc.
well, if you look in the irs booklet for tax exempt organizations, including religions and churches over here, go to page 5, "jeopordizing tax exempt status".

Lots of religious organizations have tax free status without instructing their followers not to vote. Now, if the religion endorsed a single candidate and asked congregants to vote as a bloc..... But as blondie pointed out, even this hasn't been frowned upon.
No, I think the rule exists because rules keep people tied up in knots and differentiates them from the "world".

Consider what you would do if you were married to a man with an obsessive hobby like extreme sporting. You might try and join his madness at first but perhaps your desire to save mortal life and limb overrides everything else. You may take the position, "Sure, honey, go have your fun I won't spoil it, but count me out."

They say, "Loose lips sink ships". What is with your husband broadcasting your doubts all over the place? Is he looking for assistance to lovingly bring you in to the fold? I agree with others that you can extract yourself from all your current commitments. You can appear supportive by attending a meeting once in a whlie but make sure it is random so they don't get their hopes up. Any mistreatment by the congregation can be an excuse for ever longer absences.
If I were you I would make your husband my research project, using Steve Hassan's materials as a guide. What is your husbands authentic personality? What floats his boat?

Lost opportunity to witness to a pair of Moonies
by jgnat inhousebound at the moment, recovering from surgery, two lovely asian ladies approached me in my yard saying they were graduates from the something-something institute and they were practising what they learned.
they wanted to tell me about mother god.... that elicited a pretty fast "no thankyou" and they moved to the next door.
i entertained the idea of giving those two girls a run for their money, but hubby said no- go.

JK, hubby is fading. I have never met a man so good at lying. When he meets Witnesses out and about he can say enough to fool them in to believing he is one of their own. Remember, this is the guy who hid our marriage for months. Besides, he still likes the literature. Look at all the pretty pictures.

There's also Big Corporation arrogance. They can afford to wait out the little guy, in the hopes he will expire from exhaustion before it gets to judgement.
Budding artists often will will use such reference photos in their work but they should NEVER be published.

Heck, there's a lot of BS on the internet. People must develop their own BS meters, and skeptically review all information that comes across their plate.
