  will never be peace even under god's rule.. i think god realize he have created a mess and said screw this .

  and have left us on our own.. each day there is another crisis, what's next.... there is no solution to bring harmony among mankind, hell.

  hey guys.

  i am seeing a lot of flak on the forum over this study wt, and rightly so, as it's rather creepy.

  but i'd like to suggest an alternate way of looking at this upcoming series of articles -- as an opportunity.

  every paragraph and every article in this issue is nonstop heavy artillery fire propaganda.

  i have never seen a wt so full of logical fallacies, appeals to emotion, appeals to authority, guilt tripping and bite techniques all in one issue!

  paragraph 9 states clearly that even though the gb is imperfect, that does not matter, we must obey them anyways.

  ctrwtf, speaking of obedience my friend told a dog story the other day. She saw her puppy running out the door with a full can of Pringles in his mouth. Instead of chasing him, she shook the dog kibble bag. Fool dog ran right back inside.

  Maybe the smoke detector is terrifying to a Canadian because the alternative is standing barefoot in the snow.

  That's a six hour drive, easily do-able here in Alberta. It took us five hours to drive to Grande Cache.

  Edmonton to Vancouver, 13 hours, 1,157 kms (719 miles)

  Publisher Statistics

  i was watching a couple videos on youtube earlier and always like to peruse the comments at the bottom of the page.. i'm no sure if this has been discussed recently, but one indivdual made the claim that the societies numbers are massively over inflated, as he/she believes that they include inactive, df'd and da'd in their figures.. does anyone have any information to confirm this or i this just another assumption made without evidence?.

  (also has anyone heard from witnessmyfury lately?

  Let's compare how a regular church may pad it's numbers against the WTS.

  A church may count in it's membership total attendance, which means for those who cruise from church to church they may be counted several times by different churches. So many denominations may be padding their numbers with the same folks.

  The publisher numbers from a statitician's point of view, is stringent, because it is time reported by that publisher that month. Counting peak and average can hide trends, though. The WTS has historically basked in the glow of the statistician's praise for their exclusive count of publishers.

  HOWEVER, there are no holds barred on Memorial night. On that night, they count bums in seats. This can include faded, DF'd, DA'd, Submarine Witnesses, never associated, bible studies, neighbours and random relatives. There is some pressure brought to bear on the congregation to beat the bushes and drag whomever they may find in the ditches to this fabulous feast. I think this number is closer to the count of self-declared Jehovah's Witnesses that we see in secular statistics. There are plenty of people who never make the cut (can't bear field service), or are children of Witnesses who associate themselves that never make it to the Yearbook.

  hi everyone, it's a while since i visited the site so i hope everyone's well.

  i want to ask a question that popped into my mind following my last visit home.

  in july i went to visit my family (all jw) and as you remember in one of my ealiest posts i mentioned i don't know what's my situation whether i result df or not.

  Nov 2014 WT, much about nothing, or is it?

  the article "why we must be holy" ties in obedience as being holy.

  there is a subheading in this article that states " prove yourselves holy by being obedient".

  par 9 quotes three brothers who had some conflicts, but they went along with the org.

  5) Sanctity/degradation: This foundation was shaped by the psychology of disgust and contamination. It underlies religious notions of striving to live in an elevated, less carnal, more noble way. It underlies the widespread idea that the body is a temple which can be desecrated by immoral activities and contaminants (an idea not unique to religious traditions).

  Obedience is related to loyalty/betrayal.

  3) Loyalty/betrayal: This foundation is related to our long history as tribal creatures able to form shifting coalitions. It underlies virtues of patriotism and self-sacrifice for the group. It is active anytime people feel that it's "one for all, and all for one."

  So here the WTS is equating disobedience with dirtiness, filth. To be holy you have to suck it up, choke it down, and wait for Paradise. How much of life is deferred as the loyal Witness tries to live up to this paragon of virtue?
