Well, not to give the Nazi JW high command any ideas - BUT:
If shorts and T-shirts are verboten "after convention", why would they be OK for the good JW at any time at all?
does everyone remember a few years back, when the km directed that nobody should wear shorts after the convention while out and about?
i don't have the reference, but i remember a brother in our hall made a comment that night at the meeting while it was being discussed.
he was a very poor brother, with 3 children.

i have been watching the discovery channel's, 'into the universe with stephen hawking' and it occurred to me that professor hawking knows more about heaven (which is just part of entire universe) than jesus did.
maybe jesus knew about black holes, alien life, other worlds, the origin of the universe, etc.
jesus could have told us something so remarkable about our universe that it would have taken us 2000 years to confirm jesus' divine knowledge and prove he was the son of g-d, but he instead decided to tell us that heaven "has many rooms"- whoop-dee-doo.. i don't think jesus had a clue that there was anything out the in the physical universe beyond what he could see with his own eyes.
Without getting into the religious philosophy, I would like to reluctantly say:
I have slowly come to the conclusion (in the past few years) that Stephen Hawking has been made into a "media scientist".
I am afraid that he is not (and never really was) a contributor to cosmology on the very first level. Some good work, yes...but not great work. And some stuff in the past few years that makes not much sense at all.

The Borg is so disconnected from normalcy it is pathetic.
The incredible thing to me is that this "assembly rules control" seems to have grown up completely since the 1980s - I remember NOTHING of the kind back in the 1970s. No attempt to tell you what to wear, where to sit, where to eat, where to stay, etc. No rules on badges - I don't think we even had badges unless you were a volunteer in some particular job.
I would have expected them to grow more toward normalcy - especially after the failed 1975 prophecy - but NOOOOO: Normalcy is just not the JW way.

</form></form>for more than 25 years, the irs denied tax-exemption to the church of scientology.
It should not be forgotten that L. Ron Hubbard spent most of the last decade of his life at sea outside the legal boundaries of the U.S. specifically to avoid charges over a massive tax liability.
It should also not be forgotten that members of this cult were accused of actually breaking into federal offices to spy on a government investigation of their activities.
It is indeed mysterious how this was reversed by the IRS as Hassan says.
Gods intervention in the early history of humankind was much more so then today.
Indeed. In fact, the ancient Greek and Roman gods do not intervene with those lands nearly so much today as they are written to have done prehistorically.
sorry if this starts off as a kind of a downer.. i am 29, and my husband and i have stopped going to meetings since last october.
we live in mexico and used to attend the english.
long story short, after realizing how many much we've been lied to we stopped going to our meetings, moved out of the territory, switched to spanish, and after a month of attending just vanished.
Welcome -
One positive thing to remember is that the child will be raised free of the witnesses and their cult control system!
what is the current "light" on this hairy subject?
is it okay for a jw to have a brazilian wax?.
OH!
Glad to be of help, Terry. Shall we vacate this shallow subject and get back to the supernatural nature of string theory?
in his new spirituality book, "the plans of our enemy have been revealed", stephen haastrup exposes satan's army and the myriad tactics he uses to influence people's lives.
an accomplished pastor at the redeemed christian church of god in temple, texas, haastrup looks closely at satan's strategies and then details the counter-tactics god wants christians to implement in the fight against wicked spirits, principalities of power and all other entities that fight against righteousness.. "the plans of our enemy have been revealed" discusses all aspects of life that affect churches and its faithful constituents.
haastrup addresses the subject of debt and god's teachings regarding debt.
Does he have a chapter on playing heavy metal rock music backwards?

Can somebody tell me why women (and some dainty men) shave their pubic hair off?
It eliminates a breeding ground for the crabs, Terry.
what is meant by the supernatural?
supposedly, a realm that transcends nature.. what is nature?.
nature is existencethe sum of that which is.. it is usually called nature when we think of it as a system of interconnected, interacting entities governed by law.. so nature really means the universe of entities acting and interacting in accordance with their identities.. what, then, is super-nature?.
So, parallel universes where natural laws don't apply, are mathematical models of the natural?
That was said in jest as a joke with Terry. I do not believe in parallel universes.
String Theory is/was an attempt to explain fundamental particle physics in the actual universe. Thus far, after at least a couple decades, it has not worked out and is being expanded into other theories.
