  Going up to Colorado for a couple of weeks!

  well, in about an hour or so i am going to shut the computer down and get ready to go to colorado.. we bought a mountain cabin on the st. vrain river there last year - (a few miles south of estes park, just outside rocky mountain national park).. no tv, no internet, no phone.. will see you all after the 15th of june.... james.

  The Ferrari is too low to make that road, and we are saving the Rolls-Royce for when we are old and retired.

  What Perplexes You About Jehovah's Witnesses?

  i'll tell you what i just can't get.. how the hell can anyone cry wolf as many times as the witnesses have without huge repercussions afterward?

  i don't get it.. "the end is sooooooooo sooooooooooo close and you better get back to the organization for protection before it is too late!!!".

  have they no shame???.

  How did you dispose of all those excess magazines?

  we were always told not to throw away literature, so just what did we do with it all?

  i know that i would sneak it into the bin for recycling quite regularly.

  my parents kept all the magazines for over 20 years in ritz boxes in a cupboard, they all went yellow and smelt wierd.

  We lived out in the country and burned our trash - so, you can fill it in from there.

  I really always wondered what the true percentage of Watchtower & Awake copies was that actually got into the public's hands and had even a chance of being read by them. I always put it at less than ten percent.

  That was back at a time when the total publication was given at around 10 million, IIRC.

  i'm officially living on my own and it feels great.

  i was worried that once i move out i'd regret my decision but i knew right away that i made the right decision.

  i was nervous about telling him.

  I personally think that was a pretty cheap shot by your ex - asking for the ring back to give to somebody else.

  Did JWs teach "alcohol is OK in moderation" to justify Rutherford's boozing?

  i know a lot of non-jws who try to be good christians, and for them, part of that means staying clear of alcohol- period.. so how did this "alcohol is ok" come about for jws?

  i have to wonder if it wasn't originally because rutherford was constantly blitzed out of his gourd..

  But then Mormons are like some Muslims I know who drink alcohol behind the scenes.

  The publicly tetolaling Dallas Southern Baptists do this as well. Most of their churches have a division of "drinking" and "non-drinking" members. It has been cynically said that even the non-drinkers have a medicinal bottle or two of whisky under the kitchen sink.
