Actually, "idiot" used to be a proper medical term complete with an IQ range in French psychology. It was considered to be the very lowest amoung such nomenclature as the cretin, the mongoloid, and the imbecile.

My parents got in when I was about 12 or 13 - (studied, but joined for sure when I was 14)...
And I can honestly tell you that I was so ashamed of it that I absolutely avoided telling anybody else in high school what church we were going to.
For a long time after I walked out, I was also ashamed to admit to anybody that I had ever been in it.
Now I view it as a big lesson in life, and a chance to help other people involved in control cults get themselves free and clear.

the "wise instruction" (as described by the society) given is that sisters now have to wear head coverings when interpreting sign language public talks.. differs from the previous instructions that sisters didn't need to do so.. .

It might be useful to remember that as a matter of history, many of the world's longest living people were from the steppes of Russia and had absolutely no access to what we refer to as modern medical care. It has been said that average lifespan has been extended most by prevention and cure of childhood disease and greatly increased chance of survival (both mother and chile) during childbirth.
Simple genetics and day-to-day lifestyle and diet also have a great influence.

Just a simple statistical question on the blood issue -
by JWoods ini was driving to work monday and the local oldies rock station had on a public service ad for the local blood bank...mentioning a dallas lady who had to have an emergency caeserian section, but they were able to save both her and the baby.
it required several units of blood.. it set me to thinking - what if???.
what if the entire united states were placed under jw "theocratic" law and every single person was denied a blood transfusion option?

And of course there are cases of exposure to Hepatitus or HIV from transfusions and an ongoing effort is being made to protect the blood supply.
This still cannot change the obvious fact that transfusions have a positive benefit. The JW legend of blood transfusions killing people is a straw man designed to reduce the fears created from this simplistic and draconian doctrine.

God confused peoples language so they couldn't build Babel....a load of crap!
by Witness 007 inyeah well, back in the day a group of people built a tower to heaven, so god confused their languages so they would not build a "mega city" and become powerful.. or if you want to used half a brain....languages evolved over time as a form of comunication between different tribes.
many languages are related, slavic or asian languages share the same or simular words.
oh and the cherry on top is adam and eve spoke yiddish.....ooie mashugana!

by Vachi 8 He Is inanother thing i don't get is how all these animals have these destructive body parts, yet i'm to believe they were going to all be herbivores had a&e not sinned?
i pose this question to my dub aunt and she goes "animals weren't eating each other before the flood but they the ones outside of the ark had to survive some kinda way so they took to eating each other.".
now, this begs a series of questions: if the animals could survive the flood, what was the point of noah collecting all of them in the first place?
