Probably she would like a couple pints of gin and some MadDog 20/20 from the corner liquor store.

Satans tools, Satans fools.
by Weeping inthere is a satanic game being played now on the internet called, "world of warcraft".
it is a role playing game (dungeons and dragons on steroids!).
it is so captivating and bewitching that children and teenagers are getting hooked.

Weeping, if you are still lurking out there - a thread on Horror Movies is active and you might want to comment on which ones are safe (if any).
For example - is there Satanic content in the old B&W version of "The Blob" with Steve McQueen?

Horror Movies
by highdose inquestion: do you find you are able to watch horror movies now that you are out?
i am not, the years of expecting impending doom and persecution has taken its toll too much.
i am now unable to emtionaly distence myself from what i see on screen.. is this unusual?.

Maybe our resident Satanic awareness poster Weeping has something to add to this topic?

You know, it might be worth a thread of it's own: But, this just occurred to me -
Is it possible that the JWs do things in "the preaching work" that are deliberately designed to annoy the public?
By that I mean - we know they have this "persecution complex". Is it possible that some of these weird practices are partly intended to offend people and thus bring on resistance from ordinary people? That this could be the real cause and effect rather than honestly trying to gain recruits?
In the same sense as the Malawi thing with the ID cards, and then made far worse by the stupid letter-writing campaign - a self induced persecution.
How else can you explain street witnessing, Wall-Mart witnessing, graveyard witnessing, obituary trolling, sound cars in front of churches, and so on?

Strangely, I don't think I had ever heard of this in my time as a witness - 1962 to 1979.
I find it in typical JW cynical bad taste.
Doesn't surprise me though, as I know for a fact that they troll the public records for Vietnamese (and other ethnic) people and try to recruit them into foreign language congregations. I have to run off about one call a month because our home phone was in Mai's name for a long time.

JW in Wal-Mart Parking Lot - I couldn't believe it
by RubaDub ini'm on my way home from work and had to detour due to an accident on the highway.
i passed a wal-mart and instead of just sitting in the traffic, i pulled in to get some stuff i needed for the garden.. on my way out, i spot someone who appears to be selling something (rather common in parking lots here in south florida).
anyway, as i got closer, here was a brother sitting in a lawn chair under a tree on one of the little grassy areas where they plant the trees in the parking lot.. at his side, he had pulled a wal-mart shopping cart up on the grass.

Some WalMarts used to let them set up tables close to the doors like a hot dog stand. There was a thread with a picture of them a long time ago in the previous version of the site. I would think that a thinking WalMart manager would hesitate to do this just to avoid pissing their customers off.

Malawi Congress Party cards
by Marvin Shilmer inunder watchtower doctrine, during the 1960s and 1970s witnesses in the african nation of malawi suffered terrible crimes against them for refusing to purchase malawi congress party cards.
how many participants here have ever viewed a malawi congress party card both inside and outside?.

Absolutely, Marvin. Just a real tragedy put upon those Malawi people (who had no way to know any better) by the Brooklyn fat cats.
The cards had nothing to do with religion any more than a driver's license does.

Second post to ask - Marvin (or anybody) - do we have any idea how many people were actually killed in Malawi over this? I would have guessed maybe a couple dozen or so. But many many more beaten, robbed, and raped.
Seems like I remember a lot of the witnesses there seeking refuge in a neighboring country until the regime changed - is that right?

Very interesting. Think it would be worth scanning one and putting it up here, Marvin?
Maybe the 1975 magazine is what I saw, but I remember the letter writing being in the 1960s - maybe about 1966. Of course, writing all those letters did absolutely no good and probably made things worse for those in Malawi.
Yes, Beks, the JW command here in the U.S. had practically an orgy of persecution complex over this (after they caused it themselves).
