well, some of you know that i have a 16 year old son who lives with his jw mother.

she has already mastered the art of guilt control on him.

i am most anxious that he not get baptized at all or at least unless he has really understood the whole truth, not just the watchtower truth.

The New Agnostic Self

the past few months have found me in a different frame of mind.

i no longer struggle with religion.

i have adopted a self label: agnostic christianist.

Interesting thread. I am finding myself gravitating to idea that there may no god. However, there is a bit of me that wants a god to exist, I am sure this is just an embedded concept that will take a very long time to break free of. I too believe that there are some excellent values in Jesus' teachings, but there are some poisonous ones in the New Testament. I am 6 months into my self re-evaluation, I take each day as it comes read a great deal. I will never again be influenced by a man or group of men, I will listen to everyone's point of view, but then form my own opinions and ideas. If I am wrong so be it - it won't be the first time.

My Kids Met Santa Today

ok - it wasn't santa really - it was guy collecting for the local lions club.

he gave them a lollipop each and we donated a couple of pounds to the charity.

i know this mundane to 99.99% of the population, but to us it was a big deal, a major step.

I know this mundane to 99.99% of the population, but to us it was a big deal, a major step. My son was really exited, my daughter was a bit confused, she has spent 9 years being told christmas is evil and Santa is an anagram of Satan.
