Swedish government declines to give JW financial support

quite recently, watchtower in sweden applied for governmental financial support, as they are entitled to as a registered religious community.

however, the government declined to accept the application, stating that the reason was that the jws do not adhere to democratic values and standards and do not support mainstream values.. the witnesses are upset, because they feel discriminated against.

they state that the financial issue is not the real issue, but to be treated in a similar way as other religious communities.. they have appealed the decision and plan to send a report explaining the witnesses views in more detail.. the branch office chose the religious, pentecostal (assembly of god) newspaper "dagen" to make an interview.. here is the photo report of the article.. .

recently there was a thread about the evils of "social networking" for witnesses.

facebook, my space and other similar sites are "worldly" and to be avoided.. before you know, nearly everything will be considered unacceptable for a christian witness of jehovah.

let's have fun and go to extremes...what else will be a no-no?.

i sent an email detailing why i am not ok with my kids being with my (in the past) abuser father, and in turn mother (forgiver, hider, fascilitator).

i also touched on the fact that we do not consider ourselves to be jws, or held to the laws and rules of such, nor do we view the elders or congregation as an authority on us.

that she could print the email and give it to the elders if she wanted, but it would surely hasten the announcement of our disfellowshipping if she did.

How Do We Help JWs Who Come To This Site?

when a witness checks this site out, they could think it's a jehovah's witness friendly site.

the fact is this site is for anyone interested in jehovah's witness things, whether they are still witnesses or once were or just want to know about witness life.. what positive ways can we help a witness on this site?.

Just remember how powerful the WT dehumanisation program is. Don't be angry with a defender of the "Troof", feel sorry for them. Try and help them to reason for themselves. Don't berate their posts or comments. It is hard leaving the WTS as you all know, this board should help take some of the pain out it not add to it.

I posted this without any coments to see what the response was, I susppose I should give my opinion. We don't know who these researchers are, what tests they undertook or how they ruled anything out. I think it is an eerie photo but I am sure it is faked. The bringing of bad luck story reinforces my opinion. I hope the guy who took / fabricated it makes alot of money.
