We'll be able to "follow the money" when the U.S. government allows full public disclorure of the WTBTS juggling acts.
Is that likely to happen?
i missed this point the first time i read ray franz's book " crisis of conscience " 3 years ago.
but it leaped off the page at me the second time around reading it this time.
on page 28 in discussing how secretive the gb meetings are and only rarely will an outsider be let in to gb meetings to give a report- then were sent away out of the room so the gb could continue meeting in secret.. franz in discussing financial issues states on pg.
on march this year (2009) i dad myself from the jws.
of course, it was nice to finally feel free, real free, after over 40 years of mind control.
i don't write much here but i feel this is worth sharing.. one measure i took before leaving was to take my then 15 year old son for a walk and explain to him that things would be different from the jws standpoint, but that i would always love him and that he could come to me at any time.. one thing that was very hard for me, is the fact that i separated from my wife, with which i was having problems for a long time already.
isn't this a double standard?
the wt leaders forbids or at least strongly discourages higher education, main reason being the risk of getting influenced by worldly thought and associations.
then how come the wt leaders permit jw's to have fulltime employment with worldly companies??

"last year, the governing body announced an adjustment to the congregation meeting schedule that allows more time for bible study and discussion as a family.
Blondie, it is different to family study. Family worship may include a study but in addition the family should be preparing FS presentations, discussing potential issues which may arise in school or secular activities, doing additional research on random topics (our last CO visit included looking at things like the modern history of God's organisation - I did this but but on the internet and NOT the proclaimers book - haha).
After you have the sent the kids to bed, parents should be using the evening to discuss other spiritual matters. I know this hasn't come directly from the GB, but our CO indicated in our Elders meeting, that a family could quite easily spend 4 hours on a Thursday night on spiritual activities. NOTE: That does not include meeting preparation or personal study, that's what Monday is for.
No this is NOT just family study, it is a full evening of theocraptic activity. Essential to prevent us from being zapped by the almighty at Armageddon.
the october 15, 2009 watchtower has some interesting thoughts--some of which have already been discussed at length on the message boards.
i thought i might highlight my personal favorites for discussion.. page 4, paragraph 7:.
"it is necessary that we have self-respect and find joy and satisfaction in our kingdom service.
