Dear xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
I would like to bring attention to a matter that was addressed by NBC's Dateline and also the BBC program PANORAMA recently, involving child abuse in a religion. Unlike the Catholics, who admit there is sexual abuse within their ranks, and are taking steps to address the issue and protect the children, turning over the suspects to the police for potential prosecution; the Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT.
The Jehovahs Witnesses admit that they have a database within their USA headquarters with an unconfirmed number of names (Unverifiable estimates are upwards of 27,000+ names) of pedophiles within their own congregations that they say they keep whenever an accusation is made against one of their own.
However, in most cases, these names are not disclosed to local authorities for follow up. They are not only taking the law into their own hands with this, and potentially circumventing state and government law, they are putting their own children at risk, and exposing the general public as well.
Jehovah's witnesses go door-to-door. In both reports they do not stop pedophiles from continuing in their door-to-door ministry. In the Dateline report, one man was convicted and was sent to prison, and as soon as he was released, he went back into the door-to-door ministry! The reports I saw on both programs are extremely alarming, especially in recent light of all the child abductions happening here in the USA.
In addition, in recent light of the US Supreme court ruling in Ohio regarding Jehovah's Witnesses and their rights to go door-to-door without any requirement to 'register' with their local authorities, I'm very concerned that some of these men dressed in suit and tie are predators looking for their next victim.
The Catholic Church is admitting to their problems and is attempting to address them and cooperate with law enforcement in an effort to protect children, the public, and to see that justice is served for perpetrators of this heinous crime.
In stark contrast, the Jehovah's Witnesses are discouraging their members from contacting local authorities, not helping the children within their own congregations, and allowing these people to continue to go door-to-door without so much as an investigation by any law enforcement agency into any claims made, putting the general public at risk!
I would very much appreciate it if you would look into this matter, in the hopes of protecting our children from any pedophiles walking around in suits pretending to be ministers of faith!

Or, is there a way I can get a copy of the actual program files myself, and I'll put them up on a server I have access to so I can include them in the email(s) I'm sending them?

As someone has stated earlier here it sounds strange but the elders must be getting guidance from mother (WT legal department). I think she should fight fire with fire and talk to her own lawyer before she meets with them.

What do the elders need the extra room for, to bring the list of 27,730 names with them, and show that the list is not 27.730, but 27,729 and DF her because she was spreading false information or something?
C'mon, 3 men and 1 woman cannot fit in a KH?
I Certainly would NOT go into that meeting alone, without either a person with me or a recording device... (Preferably the media -- I think Dateline and the BBC would love a follow-up interview <G>)

Thank you for your answers, I guess the reason I was asking is because I have a very hard time understanding how someone can see that the organiztation is NOT directed by god (Not inspired), yet hang on and follow every word the GB says, even if it means their life or the life of their child (blood issue, for example).. I've never understood that, and for my own personal information, I'd just like to understand it..

I've heard these issues slogged to death. No the witnesses don't have everything right. But then to insinuate that someone can't be wrong while they learn what is right is hyper-critical.
I agree, do they give this same lattitude to other religions, like the Catholics? If not, isn't that not only being hyper-critical of them, but also hypocritical?

If a teacher educates an individual nuclear science, he can either use the knowledge to make a bomb or power millions of homes. The student's choices will always be their own.
Different scenario.. If you KNOW that something is wrong, but you teach it anyway, you are responsible for the wrong teaching.. If I taught you how to make an atom bomb, and you decided to go out and kill someone, yeah, I'd feel guilty.. However, if I knew that you were going to use it to kill someone, I would feel responsible if I taught it to you...
If I teach you that commiting murder is ok, even though I personally do not believe it is ok, then not only have I committed a gross sin against god for teaching you to murder, but I've also committed a gross sin against god for going against my own conscience!

I certainly don't believe that the society is divinely inspired if that's what you mean. They aren't like the Kings of Israel, the Prophets or the Apostles.

I asked you, as you seemingly have a problem with it; you certainly know what you must abstain from, do you not.. So, give me the answer.. Exactly what do you consider blood, and must abstain from.. Blood as a whole, or are you allowed certain parts of blood? If you take just one part away from blood, is it still blood? So, what do you consider blood, and what are you abstaining from?
