Growing up in my home town, and also being around JWs I understand the meaning of walk silently and carry a big stick.
i am new to this forum and i just stumbled upon it and have been intrigued with the comments and experiences.
i have not been envolved for a long time now but my entire family is still is.
grandparents, mother, my step dad, and my entire family on my grandmothers side.. but most everyone here, from what i have noticed, has strengthened my belief that if you were a jw at one point, you now are a stronger and better person for it.
I think JWs make better people when they are asleep!!!
so i'm sitting at my desk at work when my cell phone rings.
i've been faded for over 3 years now and i'm way beyond the point where i didn't answer my phone and dreaded any knocks on my door.. anyway, i answer and it's an elder from my old congregation.
he went on about how he was pretty much going down his list of names of inactive/ and was wondering if he and another elder could come by for a visit.

i've learned that there are a lot of players out there and that i may be one of those girls who easily fall for these types, unfortunately - not anymore though!i've learned that when a guy says, talk to you later, don't reply to your sms/text within 1-2 days, never calls you, doesn't suggest going to the movies or watching a football game together, only calls you drunk saturday nights, etc etc isn't interested in you, at all (except for perhaps one thing, and one thing only).i've learned that guys can be very cowardly when it comes to be honest abt their feelings and intentions (not all though) - mr. doe is perfect as we all knowi've learned that i'd rather stay single than being with the wrong personi've got to know myself better and know what i don't want!
!however, all in all, this year as a happy single and non jw has been a great experience for me.

this jdub was out walking his two dogs when attacked by a pit bull, killing one of his dogs and causing injuries to his hand.
he was from texas and now lives in melbourne.
he comes from a very well known us jw family (uncles, grandparents in brooklyn, other uncles c/o & d/o, w/t life story of family...).
and I wasn't trying to insinuate that all Pit Bulls are bad,
I think I was anxious to get done with my comment thinking that I was boring someone and just wasn't thinking about what I was saying, and at the same time what I may have ment is that I have not seen anything like it. That they must be bad azz in some sort of good way. Like AWESOME.
I have not seen a dog with such determenation before.
And yes the dog was giving a warning that was due to come and I can understand what it was. That he had it in for me for making so much noise for a couple of weeks remodeling my house. Running roofing guns and such.
I was really scared, he was really pissed at me.
I do beleive that I have heard that before that Pit Bulls do not have a locking jaw, I forgot, and I am glad that I was corrected for what I said.

I have been attacked by all sorts of dogs and a couple of times by a pack of dogs. A lot of times you will be alright as long as you keep all of them in front of you, but sometimes you just have to beat the crap out of them.
I did not beleive that there is a dog that I could not whip, but the neighbor behind me had a Pit Bull that just by the sound of it I knew that I did not want any part of that one. The dog almost made it over the fence a couple of times trying to get at me, and I told my neighbors that they should put a cover over the top of that cage before he gets out and kills one of these kids going to school. ( we just had a Pit Bull kill a kid in our community) The owner acted as though he did not beleive the dog was vicious, and about that time my other neighbor come over and the dog showed his true colors, and they did put a cover over the cage.
The moral of the story ( I am sorry to bore you)
acually Pit Bulls are really bad, I am surprised that the guy that was attacked was able to get the dogs mouth open because they have a locking mech. on their jaw.
I have heard of people beat a Pit Bull with a hammer and not be able to stop one...
