No More Missionaries

has anyone heard about this?

we received an email from an old friend who is still an elder and doesn't know what we are up to.

"a change, they are no longer training missionaries and sending them into foreign fields.

interesting, because lately they push the "serve where the need is great" thing.

By this, they have pubs moving to other areas without needing to train them in Gilead.

Much cheaper I guess...

apologies if already discussed - the second cos talk discusses 4 "important" areas where jws need to consider the biblical principles involved.. answers on a postcode ( clue - one word - 2 letters - 1st letter is "n" ).

nothing like this from our CO, although he is definatly company man and rather hard-core.

I think the 2nd talk is thier won making, no outline from society.

In the elder+ms meeting he mentioned facebook, but said, we should not demonize it, rather learn how to handle it (private setting etc)

which was not such a bad advice actually.

Of course, the education stuff gets mentioned a lot lately, makes we want to scream, really...such a blatant hypocrisy...

it used to for me, and now it doesn't.. i'm not sure how i was able to accept that argument now that i don't, but perhaps it was connected with my increasing compassion for people and their personal suffering as i've grown older.. now it seems like a sick excuse.

more like a bar-bet with satan and all of creation suffers.. i read paul's words and he has no rejoiner except to say in effect "sucks to be a vessel of wrath...glad i'm not one, but who are you to complain anyway, huh?

the U.S. is a WTS spin or even nonsense.

The issue raised was simply: If A+E eat from the fruit, they never die and be like God.

Answer: They died, never were like God, question answered, case closed.

next step, independent from any U.S. according to the bible, was how God tried to fix the broken, foretelling the messiah, who died for our sins...

and then 2000 years pass, and nothing else happens .....

there are only two possible reasons: 1) the whole thing is a human fabrication from tales and myths long ago... or

2) the cursed apostate Christians were right after all, and good people go to heaven, while the earth is just left for itself....

lately I´m getting more and more used to 1)....

ok arguing for words, wheter "for" or "at" babylon, okay is one thing, but the issue, that shows how dishonest and deceptive the authors of the WTS really are, is their misqouting of scholars. Taking sentences out of context totally against the intent of the writer, is really not honorable for a religion, that claims to possess the one and only truth.

its actually quite disgusting....

i have been told that samuel herd gave a talk at the annual meeting that continues a specific rejection of the nuremberg standard within the organization.

by citing the example of gideon, he taught that if we obey a foolish or wrong command in jehovah's organization, we are not blamed by jehovah.

this continues and intensifies the arrogant (and yes, satanic) idea that 'we can't be wrong'.

very interesting indeed, because why would they even mention, that they possibly could say something wrong ? Before it was always "new light" when a chnage came, hardly they admitted mistake. Is this kind of a reaction to something going on ?

Do they maybe realize, that rank and file are questioning more and more what they teach and preach through the countless pages of their literature ?

"Mentally diseased" article to be published in The Independent tomorrow

i gather from my other thread that many liked the creation books, the mankind search for god book, the greatest man book and the ministry school book.. but which book did you absolutely detest?.

was one of the steps, that led me to finally look behind the curtain...when it came out in 2008, I quickly looked through it and was disgusted...

a few months later I went online .....

I also did not like the book about the prophets, I think came out 2006, oh and I was bored to death by the study of the Isaiah books....

Revelation book, even though lots of crazy stuff, I kind of liked (well I sci-fi and fantasy ;-)

yesterday, i opened a topix account so i could post the information about watch tower representatives attending the political ocse meeting in poland for two weeks and the proof that they are an ngo.

there was an article some years ago about the question, what constitutes the unforgivable sin, and it was kind of hinted (or even expressed clearly) that those who attack the slave (apostates e.g.) would fall into that category.

So in the mind of JW, people like Barb Anderson or Randy Watters etc are all guilty of the unforgiveable sin, have to look for this article at home..

What do they get out of this?

maybe this has been discussed before but i'm starting to wonder why it is so important for wts to keep such a tight control over its members?.

is it because the gb and other folk in upper management are so delusional and psychotic, that they believe in the rubbish they spout?.

or is someone somewhere getting something (financially) out of this?.

Thats a good question, actually even an important one. Once discussing with a rather open minded friend some issues in the org, that bothered me. He actually agreed on many things, but he mentioned, that the difference to other religions (cults or whatever) our leaders do net get rich.

Technically he is right, if they would have lots of wealth, surely somebody in our age of information would have exposed it.

So whats the real reason ? Power ? Not riches but financial security ? or as Ray Franz said, are they just captives of a concept ?

It could easily be, I also, as an elder, believed once, I was chosen by God directly...so maybe they really believe it themselves...

I´m not sure, if they are deceivers, I rather think, they are experts in applying cognitive dissonance...
