anyone who can turn their back on their flesh & blood sons and daughters, mothers and fathers fulfill this prophecy perfectly.. people who do this are utterly unloving & cruel.

it has lead thousands of people to feel issolated, alone & in many cases suicidal.

how can such a thing originate with god?.

Def a dangerous religion. Years and years later I am still working on repairing and appreciating family relationships that have suffered due to this barbaric , mean belief of the JW's. When your old and sick who will be there for you? Definitely not your so called bro and sis in the WTS its your family that will be your blood and nothing can replace that ever.

I really have come to regret the years that went by when I had no contact with my family members who were df'd, I'll never be able to make up for that. I am really appreciative that my family members who were df'd at a very young age didn't take their own life, but struggled and made it on their own. They showed that they were way stronger than the WTS could ever have made them.

They take the scrip to the extreme that " there exists a friend sticking closer than a bro" or something like that, taking one text and blowing it out of proportion they are really good at that.

it still amazes me that i was a jehovah's witness for 27 years and never thought twice about these types of talks other than i need to make sure my act is together when the end comes, and now i can't even read/hear it without getting mad.

Maybe he is like a Bro I know from the headquarters who takes personal donations from publishers when he visits third world counties as a guest speaker and uses them to fly his family around on holidays? Hes never had so much cash. I think his wife has altered his pockets to be very deep so as to hide the bulges from the money he has stashed.........what you receive freely give freely? yeah sure!

If he's living a head quarters he is eating better than any of us could possibly eat and he has no responsibilities , that sounds like a pretty awesome deal. He should be the last to counsel anyone on materialism or finances. Has he had any education or is he qualified to counsel people in life and death matters?. Why not perpetuate the lies, its all about saving ass first

His manipulative tone and downward preaching seems to make him elevated as if he knows more or has inside information because of being part of the GB..... thats a joke. Having three kids only means that he has sold out personally on more than one occasion and manipulated his family along the way.

Official visit from two local elders one fine Sunday morning

well, it finally happened.

a week ago sunday my fiancee and i were sitting in the living room drinking coffee and watching the morning talking heads when we heard the crunch of tires on the gravel in the driveaway, about 10:30 or so.

No doubt Co's visit was going to be in a couple of weeks and they were in the inactive file looking for visits, I think that they can still count time for those visits also, who says you have to answer the door?

im working on my exit strategy out of the watchtower org.

ive set my mind to be out by the end of 2010 or mid 2011. .

id like to avoid getting df and disassociating my self is also an undesirable option.

Enlist the help of a confident Psychiatrist or Psychologist to ensure that you come away from the Borg as a full whole person!

Work with him or her on an exit strategy that will minimize the aggravation for you and your family.

I called my exit strategy DELICATE DETACHMENT.... something I have used in relationships ever since my exit from the Borg. Get strong phsically ,Work out and leave as a strong person not a weak depressed person.

Minimize your fear of intimidation and know your making the most awesome best decision in your life.....................Freedom of mind is such a huge turn on!!! I love it!

Step down as soon as possible,Don't give any previous warning of your decision before you step down or talk to any other elder . Wait till the last part of the elders meeting and state that you have made a decision due to health and family issues to step down.

The circle jerk group actually asked a few questions which I gave broadly vague answers to. I was prepared for the grilling from each one as the questions of Why? Why? were asked be each individual. Some were visibly excited at the prospect of my position opening up....and could care less and never even called me ever after I left ahhhh true friends!

It was the most exhilirating thrilling experience to close the door behind myself and leave all the negativity forever and really enjoy my wife and family like a real man should.

The Final Nail in the Coffin of your JW Career

i know there has been countless threads on this, some say the paedophile scandal, others say the blood ban, some say the conduct of their elders, others say the petty rules etc.

but there is usually one thing that seals every one's fate, tips you over the edge,finishes you off.i was fading, very closely to full inactivity, off the book study list, and very sporadic meeting attendance, which took me to the very last time i set foot in my kingdumb hall, this is what happened;.

it was the memorial of 1994, i hadn't set foot in the place for months, but thought a show at the memorial would keep the wife happy and the elders at bay for a bit longer, i drove to the hall being careful not to get there too early(the wife was already there and had saved me a seat) i walked up to my seat about mid way in the hall so a lot could see me, it was packed probably about 200 there, as i sat down ( about 3/4 mins to go) a sister in front of me turned around and said"we haven't seen you in a long time!

It started one day when my son was very small maybe about three or four. I was going door to door and I called at this door where someone confronted me about my son. How could you bring your boy here and try to manipulate his little mind. My answer at the time was..... dont worry we will be in the pool together most of the afternoon he has a great life! But then I thought about how I was manipulated and how horrible it was to be raised a JW being called " Hey Jehovah " from the start of the walk home to the finish! I thought about how my guts were in total chaos at the begining of the school year when I had to hand the teacher a note from my parents asking that I be able to stand outside the classroom during the lords prayer. I thought about all the guilt I grew up with as a young person during the " bloom of youth "and how perverted it was that anyone would be interested in whether I wacked off regularly or not.......

My son has grown and knows how much we love him, we could never do that to our kid ever, so fortunately we left before the damage was done.

Being FREE is such a huge turn on! It is worth all the hassles and misery to be free from the Borg! Never having to ever prepare and give a manipulative controlling talk and feel pressured for any crazy reason is the absolute BEST! Not feeling as your a Robotic follower, and now that U are just normal, and happy and have the balls to stand up for yourself is amazying.

Life now is worth living, the dread, and the depression of never meeting your own or their expectations is gone forever Whew!

Its a balsy , strong, miracle to be another one to leave and never look back ever!

We should all give ourselves a huge pat on the back and be looking for ways to reward ourselves in this life for what we have had to put up with during our lives..........................Slap Slap!!!!

Its a modern day miracle to be among those who have left for sure.

Not sure really if I believe this but this thought comes into mind after all those years and years of painful volunteering and timewasting, maybe someone did (godlike in the universe?) or wont forget that those hours and hours I did have some good intentions even though they were also motivated by selfish gain and acceptance of the Borg! frick who knows heb 6;10 (had to look it up on the internet, how quickly you forget)

God is not so unrighteous as to forget your work...............

i have no idea what i want to convey in words here on this site, and have surprised myself by even joining at all.

i intended just to read, and get a few pieces of information, and now am a member, and spend many hours looking through posts old and new alike.

i am a current jw, born into it, and lets just say i'm in my thirties, female, and a mom of more than your average kids.

It begins for its own reasons for each one of us here who have left....... but the common thread seems to be that it just doesn't seem right. It sometimes begins as a gut feeling that there is an insincerity of oneself to stay, and the honest thing to do is to leave.

I had that very similair calm "you know its right to leave" kinda moment but it takes the biggest balls possible to actually do it. It def takes strength and character to pull it off and remain intact, and yes therapy with a professional really makes a huge impact on leaving as a whole person.

I sometimes still shake my head and can't really believe that I am free now! That is motivation for me to never look back.

Good Luck! Yeah U need that too! no matter what they tell U.

Hey,

We have been out for over sixteen years and the "Borg" has still left its marks on us. Unfortunately we seem to be a "worst case scenario"when it comes to manipulation and control and emotional abuse when we were children. I honestly seems you have a ton on your plate in regards to just coping with your marriage breakup and seperation issues with your children let alone loosing all our so called friends.

To be part of a group therapy or discussion group is really important. I was in therapy for over six months with a psychiatrist just to be able to leave and still be a whole person intact without the guilt and emotional turmoil most experience so you have to do the work!

So make time for yourself to just chill and settle a bit, take a deep breath and enjoy that freeness of mind and heart you are beginning to enjoy. Remember it takes balls to leave and make changes in your life, it takes strength of character to say " Hey man I am outta here and I'm not going to sell out any more ever!"

Your kids are so fotunate to have a force in their lives that will eventually be able to really show UNCONDITIONAL love to them. Unconditional love was never part of the equation in our lives was it. Not ever worrying or jerking our kids around because of some stupid comment or observation an elder makes only to have a clone family out in public yet all messed up behind doors.

Get some Regge music going and get happy its only going to get better.
