note that in matthew 24:45-47, jesus asks a question, "who really is the faithful and discreet slave, who his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
" "appointed" is past tense.
I was just reading the account of Gideon and how he asked for evidence of God's support in have dew or not having dew on the fleece.
Therefore why would the GB feel that evidence should not be provided? Maybe because they feel above God in the need for evidence in their decisions.

I also thought it is interesting how the titles President, Judge, Pastor has been vanishing from the WTS literature in reference to former "leaders" of the WTS.

when you were a dub did you ever consider this ............ as jehovah regards blood as something sacred, why did he create animals that feed on the stuff?.

Because animals are different than humans? Humans can worship God, animals cannot.
Animals cannot read the Bible commands nor follow the directions from the WTS.

i have come to believe that we are an amazing bunch of people - we made our way despite all the odds and fought for individuality - and won.. even today i was told that going back to the hall would solve my problems (by a jw family member) and i honestly can say that i felt amusement.
Glad you are posting again. Amazing how JW believe that going to meetings and being active in the field ministry will solve all the problems a person has. I have heard talks about individuals receiving rent money or car payments at their doorstep when they had no more money. Amazingly I never received such.

well, i was wondering if anyone here has had swine flu?.
i got it last week.. my son, daughter and granddaughter have it now.. jada was sent to the emergency room at the childrens hospitol here yesterday.
her symptoms were bad and she is under two.. so they sent her there.. the entire emergency room staff, security etc were wearing masks.. apparently it is getting worse here, the amount of cases.. it was a brutal sickness, i can't imagine babies and elderly dealing with it well at all.. although, i got sick with the symptoms a week ago, i feel very weak and tired and have a terrible cough still.. i read on one site the symptoms being disorientation and confusion, which i experianced.. has anyone here had it, how did you survive it?.
So far we have escaped the flu. But California usually lags behind the rest of the nation.
i know some jw's who only watch movies with specific ratings.
some will watch only pg and g. others will watch pg-13.
but i know which ones i can watch these with and which ones not to.
I watched up to PG13, never R. Did not watch movies that rumors had it that were bad for JWs, such as the Harry Potter series or DiVinci Code.
i find it difficult giving advice to our kids about college education and careers because i have no experience other than high school to go on .. when our kids were small even though my husband and i were witnesses we always encouraged them to get good grades and to strive for more education than we had.
we didn't give in to the home school craze in our hall (which at the time made one of our sons very mad) .
we thought they would get a better balanced education in public school and figured dealing with real world situations better prepared them .. one of our sons did get a college scholarship and recieved a degree .
I wish I had you as my parents when I was growing up. You definitely had your children's interest at heart instead of only the WTS interests.
Depending on the state you live in and the length of time your son has been out of work, some states offer training to learn another skill and get paid unemployment. For ones who were unemployed for several months, there was agencies that would reimburse an employer half of the wages of hiring such a person.
Unfortuately with the economy at a bottom, there are alot of unemployed and few employers hiring.
spoke with a friend of mine and he was telling me of all the changes in his congo.
said that at one time, the elder body was 95% white and 5% minority.
he said that they have had people who are moving into their congo because the larger percentage of the body is now made up of minorities.
I have not know of race being an issue either. Though I am white, I worked with other races in the body of elders with no problem.
What I saw that was more important was personal status / power within the congregation regardless of race.
my aunt's father, a formerly life-long adherent to the apostolic church, became a witness last year.. i just learned he went to the last assembly and died.
tripped and hit his head on an armrest.. i'm waiting for the next round of email that talks about jehovah protecting his people with guardian angels.
maybe he missed the memo that this guy was entitled to divine intervention..
The common phrase among witnesses is that this is an "unforseeable accident" and has nothing to do with Jehovah protecting individual persons.
Of course a phrase in the world for such sad things is he was "at the wrong place, at the wrong time".
