Welcome to this forum. Once you know the truth, it is very difficult to physically be at the meetings and wonder why you are sitting through all the propaganda. Yes family and friends may be at the KH, but they do not see the light but instead happilly accept anything the WTS says.

Got Disfellowshipped!
by time2keepmoving inwell, i was disfellowshipped about 2 weeks ago.
i was in it for ten years and it was 9 years and 11 months too long.
i honestly don't know why it took me so long to do my research on this organization.

Glad to hear how you stood your ground. The JC loves to play judges with no experience. Even the Borg recognizes the faultiness of such judicial meetings in providing appeals. Sadly even the appeals are faulty with men outside of the cong who know even less about the situation.

Which generation do you belong to ?
by edmond dantes inask a witness which generation do you belong to and see if they really know how to answer.. i have decided that every time i hear a true definition of the meaning of a generation i will post it here just to reinforce the true meaning just in case a stray jw happens to look in on here.. yesterday evening i was watching an antiques programme on the television and under discussion was a very well made baby high chair from about the nineteen thirties and the approximate date of manufacture and the length of time it had been in the family.
the expert then went on to confim how old it was and in doing so said that considering who first purchased the chair and the length of a generation that it was from the thirties and went on to say that we consider a generation to be about 25 years.. that is a truer definition of a generation than a watchtower definition.. .

a young man had been disfellowshipped for over ten years, during which time his father, mother, and four brothers "quit mixing in company" with him.
at times, he tried to involve himself in their activities, but to their credit, each member of the family was steadfast in not having any contact with him.

That is why df exists. The family causes emotional hurt by alienating the df relative. Hence by doing so, the df relative will sense the need for love from their close relatives and want to come back to the org. It really has nothing to do with how God feels about the person.

My father is dying
by peridotgreen inmy father, who has alzheimers, is dying now (he's 85).
i saw him today - he weaves in and out.
hasn't recognized me for a long time but was usually glad for the company.

by Tater-T inso here i am... finally.. i'm 3rd gen, df'd since 87 .. married a worldly girl in 88.. to save my soul, daughter in 90 divorced in 92.... let my daughter be raised by others, figured if it's the truth... i'll present it when she old enough to be acountable... just sent her the video growing up jw 1960-2010. by not wanting to teach this to my child, resonated within and well here iam... thanks to this site and all of you... everyone on my dad's side of family is df'd or inactive except my older sister, who has been flying over here to idaho to see us from hawaii.. which is making me think she is getting tired of the retoric.... i don't know where i'm going with this... i just want to change my way of thinking.. i can't see the future... but now i know why.... i have a lot to share, but for now just one thought, on being a jw child.. in 3rd grade i never got see one cartoon on saturday.. when all the other kids were talking about how awesome hong kong phooey was... i just sat there paralized, prentending to have seen it... and angry lol ... i think there are a lot more people out there like me... out but still clinging to 'the truth' in their heads.. because going against is the ultimate 'unforgivable' sin.... that it for now l8r t8r.

What was life like for you as a JW teenager?
by highdose inin the wt's illistrations they portray jw teenagers as happy, together group.
my experinace is that the jw teenagers in the cong were some of the bitchyist backstabbing arse holes i'll ever meet.. it was unheard of for us to engage in group "wholesome activity" as show in the wt's illistrations.
the competition amongst the girls for the handsome, sane and elders sons were cut throat.

I had fun as a teenage jw back in the 70s. There were lots of gatherings, games, dancing, and music. I remember several of the elder gatherings where card games were played, good food, and alcoholic drinks. There were multi-cong park gatherings of vollyball, baseball, and picnic food. Then about twenty years ago, the fun-loving elder body passed away and the younger elder body placed all sorts of restrictions on gatherings. Now I feel sorry for the teenage jws today.
