Describe What Type Of Person You Are
by minimus inthe truth---good and bad points, positives and negatives.. i'll start.. i'm pretty much a positive person.
i generally am a very good judge of character and can usually see easily the positives and negatives of a situation or a person.
i'm a bit impatient when dealing with a person who doesn't listen to facts.

I am not a quick thinker, so I can get blind-sided easily. Often times I think about a conversation or action at a later time and wish I would have said or done something different. I usually am easy going, some say to easy going.

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 10-18-09 WT Study (HOPE)
by blondie inunpublished documents, evidently written by isaac newton, that indicate he believed the world could end in 2060 ad.. (newton also had many other possible dates e.g 2034) [11].
13:43) how did the true knowledge become.
actually, until 1927 or so the wts taught that 1799 was the beginning of the "time of the end" not the 1914 the.

Thank you Blondie for this fine research. Paragraph 17 really gets to me when it says "From 1918 until 1925, the talk "Millions
Now Living Will Never Die". Where are those millions who heard this talk back in 1918 - 1925 who will never die? Another false hope from the WTS.

The 07/15/07 WT Paragraph 20 says: “Any who fear that they have sinned against the holy spirit might ask themselves: ‘Have I blasphemed against the holy spirit? Did I genuinely repent of my sin? Do I have faith in God’s forgiveness? Am I an apostate who has rejected spiritual light?’ Very likely, such individuals will realize that they have not blasphemed against God’s holy spirit, nor have they become apostates. They are repentant, and they have abiding faith in Jehovah’s forgiveness. If so, they have not sinned against Jehovah’s holy spirit.”
Pagagraph 18 says: “Even if a wrongdoer is at the time unrepentant and he is expelled from the congregation, his sin is not necessarily unforgivable.”
Therefore blasphemy against the holy spirit and being an unrepentant apostate are sins against the holy spirit
But celebrating pagan holidays, birthdays, adultery are not sins against the holy spirit, unless the person unrepentantly promotes these things becoming also an unrepentant apostate.

Interesting post. Usually Mormons try not to mention their competitors. Nonetheless the LDS writer is correct, JWs work hard in sharing their ideas. That is one reason why at all the meetings, conventions, etc that JWs repeat over and over again the need to be in the ministry. What other religion in the world has so many volunteers who give of their time and resources in spreading their beliefs?

don't marry that unbaptized meeting going sister, or loose your privileges
by DaCheech ini've got one of those forever single friend.. he tries to be friends with every kind of "spiritual" sister out there.
they use him for gifts, rides, and paying their diner meals when the friends go out.. he's in his late 40's and has himself been used by 5 sisters in a 15 years span.. he says he's found a good one, but she goes to meetings and is studying the "troof".
his elders and nosybody acquantences have told him to lay off of her until she's baptized and then some (2-3 years for prooving herself in the lord) or else loose his priviliges.. i tried to nonchalantly telling him that was hogwash, but the pharasees have a grip on him.

But the sad thing is that the elders can remove the privileges initially, if he proceeds to marry one who is not baptized.

Living in the western "rich" world we are spoiled and don't understand harships! Agree?
by Witness 007 injust saw a documentary on bolivia how a woman gets up while it's dark, puts a barrel on her head and walks 10 miles to get water for the day from a filthy well we would not swim in!....thats what 1 billion or more people have to do everyday!
they also scavenge for a hand full of rice or dirty flour...meanwhile, i buy 4 litre "springwater" and run down to the supermarket to pick what fruit, vegetables, meat, i want to eat today.. our kids want nike shoes and ps 3 while there kids need food and medicine.....and clean water!
i jump in a nice car and complain about petrol prices, while they walk many miles a day to work and home......i think we are lucky but don't know it, just born on the good side of the world.. agree?.

I agree that there are ones in the more affluent world that suffer from lack of food, housing, and good clothes.
But the majority live in luxury compared to poorer third world countries. Look at what the 2009 US poverty level for one person, $10,830 (http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/09poverty.shtml). A citizen of Malawi can spend $ 1.6 a day to make a living,
a citizen of Eritrea $ 2.5, the average US citizen spends $ 114 daily (http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/third_world.htm).Can the majority of those in the affluent nations of the world really know how those in poor countries live? No.

Interesting concept. You are right, we often times create our own destiny. But sometimes things happen because we are at the right place at the right time and it makes us feel good to give create to a Supreme Being. Since we did not create the Earth and everything on it, by having a God, we now have an explaination.

Do you ever feel bitter...
by Newborn in...that if you had never been a jw you could have been in a totally different, hopefully better, place than where you are now?
both when it comes to proffession and family etc.... sometimes i feel that i never explored any hobbies coz preaching was my hobby.
i know it's not too late for babies or new hobbies but still sometimes that makes me sad.. love.

Good postings. I am bitter over the injustice and hurt I received from the Borg after all that I have put into that arrangement. I always wonder what my life would have been like if I never became a jw. Would it be better or worse, I really don't know. But I am happier now than when I was active as a jw. I definitely am not under so much pressure of constantly being monitored in the cong.
