The Latest Parody of JWs on Youtube (you'll all LOVE this)...
by Tuesday inhey there everyone, so this is a jw parody in the vein of the hitler flipping out about things that's all the rage on youtube.
i think it's really clever and alot of the youtube apostates are already thinking it's one of the better parodies on youtube.
check it out though, i'm sure everyone will laugh.

What is the best thing you did to recover after leaving the JWs?

I started by making new friends- I would go to happy hour after work and meet coworkers friends that would stop by. I would hang out at the local coffee shop to talk and play games with people. I met my husband this way- he was a friend of a friend.
I started taking a martial arts class- it did wonders for my self esteem! And it was a great workout. I should start going again.
I started taking college classes, which eventually led to my finding this site. I read Combatting Cult Mind Control (based on recommendations on here) which really made me sit up and say, "Holy $h!t!" literally, when I read so many things that are similar to jws.
Learning about flawed doctrine is helping me to get out of the jw mindset, since my reason for fading was the behavior of others in the congregation. The wrongness of witness dogma stops me from feeling guilty for leaving over human actions. We've all heard, "Don't let others push you away from Jehovah!" Well, learning about flip-flops, flawed reasoning, and accurate history about the faith has convinced me that it is not "the truth."

What Are Some Ridiculous Things JWs Have Said?
by minimus in....either in publications, during talks or by individual witnesses?.

On that Facebook page we've been having fun with there are several comments along the line of "Satan is out to get us!" If I had little knowledge of jws, I'd be thinking, "Wow, these people are insane!"
I think it's kind of scarier that everyone there agrees with that!

Another JW Report from Haiti - this is sick....
by Bonnie_Clyde inhttp://www.ultimatebiblereferencelibrary.com/haiti_disaster__17.1.10_.pdf .
two paragraphs were really bad:.
"we suspect not a few of our young brothers and sisters attending universities may have died when those buildings crashed to the grounds with everyone in them.

That idiot reposted that bit about "Visible proof where 'higher learning' takes you--right into the ground!!"
"Lande Blinde" called them on their callus remark and they see no problem with it
What a wonderful example they set!
Edited to add- They just deleted her post, but some of the other comments mention it.

I Am Not Kool-Aid Man. Also in this issue: I Am Not Affiliated With Kool-Aid Man.
by sd-7 inthere has been some confusion over some of my recent posts, posts in which i appeared to be a "jw apologist", defending jw beliefs/scandals/etc.
this was merely an act, not intended to cause needless difficulty.
i apologize if kool-aid man--the real one--or anyone else got offended by it.

I thought it was hilarious!
My husband keeps going, "What? What?" everytime I burst out laughing- which has been a lot this last week. I should tell him to sign up!

uni is not all its cracked up to be me dears, sorry
by highdose ini've noticed on this forum the big regret of alot of people seems to be that they didn't go to collage or university.. speaking as someone whose done the whole shebang, i can tell you that while yes i learnt alot at collage, uni taught me very little at all.
in fact anything i learnt i taught myself by spending hours apon hours in the uni libary, which i could have done by just getting a day pass.. my degree has not helped me in my career, i already knew how to do what i do before going to uni.
i run my own business now but i am sure that if i ever went for an employee postion my years of experiance would count far more than the bit of paper i have proving i have a degree.. getting a degree is pretty much down to knowing how to work the academic system.

I can agree that for some jobs, having a degree is kind of pointless. Personally, I'm entering the medical field, which I'm sure people can agree, you should have gone to school for.
