  with renia now gone i feel more confident to tell my story without being belittled.

  i don't want to drone on and on, as having read alot of the experiances on here i find i have alot in comman with everyone.

  My JWN Anniversary

  i noticed the jwn time clock is actually a few days ahead of schedule.

  anyway, it has rolled over to show that this is my 12 month mark.. i know that a few people here read and enjoy my posts.. but i have also noticed that very few people seem interested in participating in discussion of my subject matter.. just thought i would post this and see what you all might have to say about my time here.. .

  Happy Anniversary! One thing that I've found really interesting on this board is the similarities of people's stories- being marked for daring to be a little different, uncaring congregations, and unfair JCs, to name a few.

  Something Big Is Happening To the WT Mag.

  i looked over the aug. 1 public watchtower and noticed the same changes i observed previously.. plainly put, it appears that they have simply run out of things to say and so are just filling up printing space!.

  they devote 4 full pages to a bible reading schedule that could have been easily condensed into a couple sentences.

  they have the same large graphics and typeset that eats up printing area.

  If you want to be rude, you could say that you looked up some info on JWs online and that you don't want anything to do with a religion that protects child molesters. I think I might do that if someone I don't know comes to my door.

  if it's wrong to use a ouji board, wouldn't it have been wrong for god's people to have used the urim and thummim?

  We Should All Be Extremely Proud if Ourselves!!!

  we all somehow escaped at least mentally a cult.

  considering that most of us were brainwashed, i find this very incredible.

  it is extremely difficult to get people out, sometimes impossible, but we all somehow made it!.

  The desperation of JWs hoping the end comes "soon"

  i'm starting to sense a certain desperation among jws, that they feel that the great tribulation must start soon.

  i think this is due, in many cases, to their own personal situation, financial or otherwise.. if the gt doesn't come soon, and these guys really start to suffer - what then?

  the watchtower's promises that "jehovah would not forsake them if they put kingdom interests first" by skipping or dropping out of college, turning down promotions, "simplifying" their lives by selling their homes and moving to the hinterlands...will all prove to be meaningless.. if the gt doesn't come soon, and "jehovah" doesn't bail them out...then what?.

  I remember people telling me that I would never graduate from high school because the big A would have happened by then. Yeeaahh- I'm in my thirties now, just starting college, and recently set up a retirement account. I really, really wish that I had done those sooner.

  My mom told me a while ago that if the "New World" hadn't occurred by the time she was 55 that she would start a 401k. My dad told me his plans for having their house paid off in 10 years, so it sounds like they're finally accepting that Big A isn't happening soon.

  What I don't get is the WT telling everyone that Armageddon is right aroung the corner, and then with their next breath quote "like a thief in the night". Helloooo!

  i thought i would have a go at writing to a journalist about the jehovah's witness shunning policy.

  i sent this to stephen bates, the religious affairs correspondent for the guardian (he wrote the story about the wt and the un back in 2001).. i have no idea if it will result in anything but here it is:.

  It's Amazing!

  it's amazing to me how many of the exjws no longer believe in god.

  i know some of you have many reasons to believe in what you do now.

  but this is a big testimony to what the wts does to people's concept of god.

  Personally, I have a hard time reconciling the God of the OT with the God in the NT. They're the same, right? So why did God have such a huge personality change? 2 Sam 6:6,7 God strikes down Uzzah for daring to touch the ark to keep it from getting knocked on the ground. The NWT says that "Jehovah's anger blazed". How many other times did God get angry? The flood- "People are being evil, I'll kill them all!" Tower of Babel- "People aren't filling the earth like I want. I'll confuse their languages and spread them throughout the earth myself!" Sodom and Gomorrah- "People are sinning! I'll destoy them with fireballs from the sky!" And so on. Then we get to the NT and all of a sudden "God is love"????? It does not make any sense to me.
