Introduction
by Lekore ini thought i'd introduce myself, i haven't been to the faux-truth in about 6 years now so i'm merely a small child to the 'real world.
' i grew up in said religion and attended two english speaking congregations and lastly a sign language congregation in britain.
i think this gives away my identity to some friends i have on here ;).

Parakeet, I love your answer .
In case you don't know this, people, I am an unbeliever (and the term is correctly used in my case) who fell in love with a witness woman in her forties. She's divorced, because she was able to prove her elder husband was cheating on her. Sometimes I think I KNOW FOR A FACT that she endured several years of misery in the company of this man. I believe that, in a way, his cheating was the best thing that could happen to her. Now she's alone, and her witness children don't even live in the same country. One of the children is married, and the other is thinking of becoming a missionary. This woman's family is away, too. So, in my books, she's virtually alone. She's been making a series of bad decisions, but I was unable to make her understand why those decisions were wrong (even if you look at them from the point of view of a witness). I am afraid she will end up alone and miserable, and, from what I see, that can actually happen, and is likely to happen.
If she went the cougar way, and they found out, she'd be disfellowshipped, and I know for a fact she doesn't want that. If she married someone in the WTBTS, most likely it would be an older man, I knew, and I have confirmed that. I believe she will choose the single life in the society.
I wanted your perspective, people, because, though I very much have to maintain my distance, I believe that, eventually, I could become her only friend outside of the WTBTS and she might need me. I have absolutely no hope of ever marrying her. Some of you advised me against that, and I have found you did that with good reason. But, still, I want to have a picture of what she could be going through in the future, to be there if necessary.
I thank you very much for your comments and posts. If you want to keep posting, please, do so.
Again, thank you very much, pals

People, another question from me. I thank everyone in advance for their posts.
I know this is a difficult question, and perhaps one no one can answer. But, let me post it anyways. If you were a divorced woman in your forties, with your children grown and gone, what could you expect if you stayed in the WT? By this I mean something like "I would expect to live alone the rest of my life", "I would rebuild my life very easily", "I would move", et cetera. I am not trying to get the answers I would like to hear, but just to give you people an idea of what I mean with this question.
Thank you.

My Wife is demanding that I stop coming to this board.
by garyneal inokay, i am in a bit of a dilemma.
since i believe in honesty between marriage mates, i have been telling my wife about this board and my participation on it.
i feel it is only right so that she won't feel like i have anything to hide.

Can a witness avoid ever being disfellowshipped or reproved?
by dgp inpeople, a simple question this time.
since the society has such a complex set of rules, how likely is the average witness to be disfellowshipped?
reproved?

Well, I'm not thinking of ever getting baptized . It seems, however, that every witness will get shunned at some point in life, save, of course for those who have money or connections. So, among those without connections, not even the most devout can ever be sure they will always be "in". If you're a worldly, then, you might eventually be all a JW has, even if the person gets reinstated later.

People, a simple question this time. Since the society has such a complex set of rules, how likely is the average witness to be disfellowshipped? Reproved? Marked? Is it possible to live your life without ever failing to be "in the WTBTS's love"?
Thanks for your posts.

The Two Creepy Commandments
by Farkel inthere are a few bible verses i'm going to discuss that probably don't bother anyone but me.
in fact, most people, including ex-dubs think they are wonderful verses.
i think they are really, really creepy verses.
