  so ive been wondering since i joined here...

  what is the benefit of the "fade out" i hear it get thrown around a lot here but is it a really a better way to go?

  at least in my area people who dont go to meetings are treated pretty much the same as the diffed people might say hi to them in the mall but there not gonna be getting any wedding invites.so why fade out?

  theres a lot of pain and drama involved in a da or df but thats the situation your in your cross to bear so to speak so why postpone or avoid it?

  ya today they told me they dreamed about a judicial committee that dfd them.........a very long dream......and that later a letter was read that retracted the df..........like that happens often.........but anywoo........ i bet/hope i will dream i am in paradise with 17 concubines tonight.......it could be messy...........oompa.

  I have dreams that im trying to escape the org all the time but usually with my boyfriend and for some reason theyve converted him and im trying to get him out or im screaming and crying at my jw mother in the middle of an assembly etc they always start in these places and spiral into unimaginable violent bizzare nightmares

  JW's and higher standards

  in a recent conversation i had with a nominal jw they were literally lost for words when i put it to them that i had higher standards now that i was no longer a jw.... 1 - i don't agree with letting babies and children die for want of a banned blood fraction.

  2 - i don't agree with taking from but not donating to the blood supply.

  3 - i don't agree with religious discrimination aka jw shunning.

  This is really interesting to me becuase im having a similar experince.Since I stopped attending meetings ive become a much nicer more caring person and I exspect more from people.I am ashamed to say I was an arrogant and self righteous jw at times and thought myself at quite a high moral standard while actually treating people like shit.This wasnt all the wts fault or influence but since ive been happier and free its really changed my outlook.My jw parents and other family members have even commented on how much nicer I have been and how much easier to get along with.They even tell me I care TO much.hopefully its been a good ANTI-witness.lol

  Im anti cults in general and I would agree that the wts hurts people people who stay in and leave BUUUUTTT we live in a society that is increasingly indifferent to what people want to do or choose to believe.So untill groups like the wts are hurting society in general more then just waking them up early on a saterday morning i dont think much will be done.

  ive been stewing on the idea for a few years that these places who are supposedly so holy must have a dark underbelly.what kind of scandolous things if any did any of you witness or hear about.e.g: amatuer porn in the residences,grow ops in the gardens cross dressing gb members etc.im going to be really disapointed if none of this ever happened.

  My mother a jw spent most of my childhood severly depressed and as a result I ended up severly neglected alot of the time .but she would still manage to throw things together to drag herself and me to the meeting(my father worked away from home) and keep up appearances .The fact that no-one noticed we both lost an extreme amount of weight and could hardly communicate with our former "friends" went unoticed.Its one of the things i resent the most about the org.The lack of support they give people as long as you make it to the meeting it doesnt seem to matter that there at home in bed crying the rest of the time with their kids raising themselves.

  A good friend of mine was df'd this week.

  he did so much for this organization.

  as an accomplished musician and composer, he has contributed so much over the years.his work is in most of the homes of an avg jw.

  They played some of thoose new songs at the dc last month they were .................i dont even know the word it was like a paragraph of "truthisms" set to music.and all the music sounded basicly the same and very evangilical like one was supposed to be sad and it sounded like some sort of dirge.Needless to say it was bizzare and will be even worse when untrained voices in halls are trying to learn them luckily I wont have to hear it!

  This is exspecailly true when it comes to women in congs.Being a young intelligent and opinionated woman is looked at as something to be at the very least frowned upon and at the very most scorned and feared.Needless to say dispite being attractive i was never much man bait for witness boys(thank god).I accepted even while I was still a believer i was going to have to marry outside of "the truth" becuase I didnt like the jw boys and they didnt like me.I think they were just intimadated by some1 who wouldnt be satisfied with just the honour of their attention.This area like many is like a 3 to 1 women to men ratio

  no, nothing earth shaking.... just that there are two threads currently running...one asking the guys of jwn to post pics to make a 'hottie' calender for the girls and another asking the girls to post some pics.... how is this proof of how the society/jws is a cult, you ask?.
