first of all, sorry for my bad english i'm from peru south america.
there's a lot to tell but i'm going in this time to be brief, because i'm very busy.. i had been an elder for almost 8 years and a jh for more than 22 years.. i'm a searcher of the truth from the 10 years old.
i grow as a catholic and got baptized as a jh at the age of 21.. in october of 2001 a jw friend ask me about the un&wt and bulgarian affair.
Welcome to the board Ginosko, your story is very interesting.
well, i got a brand new pair of roller skates.

Andee, cute thread.
I am a car drummer. My steering wheel has a nice resonance to it, so I've been known to tap away at it, or even thrash around with my hands like I'm on a drum kit while at a stop light. Some singing too. Yes, it's amazing how you can recall the lyrics of a song even when you have not heard it for a long time.

musings on children, ex-jw wars, & truth seeking
i think that children represent a real and credible threat to the wt.
children by nature are inquisitive and require explanations, which requires two way communication.
Good points Perry, and larc, what you said is true too.
i mentioned about the elder that masturbated in another post.
this same man at the elder's school, felt that the appropriate course to take against a person that committed suicide was to disfellowship him.
when he was questioned about the reason, he felt that the person, no doubt, committed a sin against the spirit.
That's one whacked elder, but hey, the .org breeds that type. Sure, not many are like that, but there is that suggestion in WT literature that suicide may jeopordize the dead's relationship w God, hence such views are born in the minds of some of the less compassionate JWs.
abandon family to serve god ?
a contradiction not often discussed relates to the biblical teaching to abandon family in order to serve god.
matthew claims that jesus told his disciples to "honor your father and mother.
Interesting thread.
i forgot who made the post about that site 'exploding' with the traffic because of the silentlambs march.. well, the site didn't explode but the traffic certainly went up!
last week we had 55,000 visits making it the busiest week ever so far.
no doubt monday will be busy 'cause a lot of people view the site from work (you naughty people, lol) and they'll want to see all the pics and stuff.. thanks to everyone who's visited and posted for keeping things buzzin'
wow, lots of traffic indeed.
ever notice how as a witness, you could not say "god" by itself.
always had to be preceeded by jehovah, or just say jehovah.
i remember my ex telling me that was the first sign that they knew i was on the way out, because i would refer to god simply as, "god".
I've always felt that the name Jehovah was over-used by the jws and their publications, and while I wouldn't say that they'd say that using "God" was wrong, one does feel very odd in their midst when saying "God".
.
well, i'm a little on the jealous side.. i always here of posters here who seem to personally know each other....of coarse not most.....but many.
just curious who knows who in the flesh?..........well partially covered flesh anyways.. when you meet them for the first time....are they way different than you expected?.
Haven't met anyone yet. I do have a list of those whom I'd like to meet.
Actually, one question raised at the outset, as to whether the people you've met are what you expected, is an interesting one.
when i was an elder i recall reading a boe letter about a little booklet that could only be requested if there was a child custody case in your hall, a copy was not be be kept ,but only requested on a need only basis.
little did i realize what it actually contained, knowing personally a number of the folks who work on the legal desk it never dawned on me that they would say what they did, but being a society man i guess i would have merely viewed it as a theocratic move.
the watchtower society encourages lying!
Good post. It is clear that the WTS does indeed try to create a false impression from what I can see. The 'emphasis' in WT publications and at assemblies and so forth is toward a life with JW goals in mind. The 'emphasis' totally changes in this brochure.
