I just saw that he died, OH NO!! I absolutely loved their songs. All I have to do is dream was one of my favorites.

I am from Toronto, I thought he was doing a lot of good things for our city but I am very Disappointed with him now that all these lies and coverups have come out. I would not vote for him now. I think for sure this is going to be the demise of his Mayor career.

Has anyone else observed how the elderly JWs are neglected?
by Joepublisher1 ini know there are exceptions to this (by good-hearted jws), but has anyone else noticed how some jws (even those who are pios, elders, etc.
) neglect the needs of their elderly parents?
(what i have seen is some jws hiding behind the fact that they are very busy in spiritual matters, too busy, to help their elderly parents with chores around their house, yet they find plenty of time for their own selfish pursuits.

I noticed it big time in 2006 when my Mom got brain cancer, suddenly no one wanted to deal with her anymore.
She was a faithful JW and they wouldn't even take her to meetings or assemblies because it was too much trouble with the wheelchair and she needed help in the bathroom. No one visited her except one couple who were pioneers and they could count their time with her. No one would help with housework except for one sister because my Mom would pay her out of her veterans allowance my Dad had and another lady I put on salary to sleep at my Mom's house the nights I couldn't. As soon as my Mom went in the nursing home those sisters were gone and never even visited her once. The one sister demanded I give her another months pay because I didn't give her notice when my Mom ended up suddenly in the "home" because she suddenly became incapacitated.

I have just published my first book. ( consequences to follow )

to be fair, they have not visited or called in nine months, apart from passing on their hello's to my wife and daughter who still attend.
anyhoo, i have had a fair amount of time to do pretty much what i have wanted over the past 9 months and so i have just finished my book.

I suffer from constant chronic pain and have for about 6 years. Its so bad now I am in tears most of the time. My doctor and most doctors here in Canada won't give you pain meds as they are afraid to be charged and lose their licence. So many people have abused the system that now those who need it can't get it. I use extra strength tylenol or sometimes advil twice a day. It barely takes the edge off of the pain but you learn to cope.
I have severe disc degeneration, severe osteoarthritis in the lower back, I broke my arm and tore my rotater cuff and that still hurts everyday, I have severe MS so my right leg and foot don't work and I have no circulation now and so there is a kind of weird pain there. Now my hands and wrists hurt and throb as I put a lot of strain on them with my mobility issues.
I am not sure if pain meds would be good on a constant basis though as it brings more health issues to us if used daily? Liver problems perhaps.
Too bad doctors wouldn't focus more on treating what causes the pain with therapy and diet etc rather than cover it up with drugs. I am talking chronic pain due to disease not injury. Injury is another issue and it is a crime to make people suffer in my opinion. grrrrr

Crazy crazy!! I have just learned about Scientology very recently, read the New book by Jenna Miscavage Hill called Beyond Belief. I was shocked and it is beyond belief about how this Church operates. She was born into it and raised in it military style, her childhood was slave labor and constant indoctrination and separation from her parents.
This religon at the elite level makes the JW religon look like a pussy cat. There is a lot of comparative practices like shunning and frowning on higher education and they have their own terminology like suppressive Person SP or blowing the church. They also try to keep their Sea Org members ignorant of knowledge from the internet and the real world. They are nuts on the Auditing thing and public Scientologists pay a lot of money to have this done or to take courses about it.
They who are in the Sea Org part of this church think they have lived before for millions of years and keep coming back in another body. They are called Thetans and they have to sign a billion year contract to serve the church. Public Scientologists do not have knowledge of the whole workings of this cult and their lives can be normal. They are the ones that have to donate constantly.

I had cataract surgery on Feb 12
by Lady Lee ini cannot believe the difference in my vision.
even with glasses my vision in the left eye was poor.
but i can now read a 12 font fairly clearly without the glasses.

I got the book on my Kindle last week called Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape by Jenna Miscavige Hill.
I did not know that being a Scientologist was so crazy and controlling or about their beliefs. This religion if you are in the elite part makes the JW religion look like pussycats.
This girl was born in and sent to a ranch at about 5 years old without her parents to be programmed and groomed for their church. She was made to work like a slave everyday. This religion does not believe in children going to school for formal education, just brainwashing of their own literature and agenda. They do not allow medication and frown on doctors and psychiatry. If you are on the fringes you are a public Scientologist, if you are in the "church" you are a thetan, if you aren't in the church or a scientologist, you are a Wog. They constantly "audit" everyone with a Emeter. They believe the Thetan members have an immortal soul and they are made to sign a billion year contract to be a member of the church.
You cannot think for yourself or protest or argue or you will be thrown out and shunned.
Its a very shocking and enlightening true story.
