hi, i've noticed that a lot of poster lately have had this scripture quoted to them, so i thought a little critical analysis is appropriate!
dog returning to vomit is supposed to imply that you go back for more of something that didn't agree with you in the first place, is that correct?.

Do dogs go back? (Trying not to be too graphic with it being New Year's Day and all!)
What is so bad about going back?
Why is the scripture used, and in what context?
What can you say to people who quote (and misquote) this scripture to you?

Hi Aussie Oz, was in Inala congo in the 70s, Ipswich in the 80s. Been out since late 80s. Went to a Memorial a year or so after, and felt unclean, so never, ever, never been back!

hi all, i'm still pretty new here, but i wanted to talk about something more substansive than low quality generic soda brands (my first post and my logon name).. of all the negative side effects of my dub past, the one that still haunts me the most is my complete inability to develop any sort of depth in my relationships with others.
i'm not one to blame all my personal problems on the wbts, but i can't help but feel that it was a significant contributing factor.
i still hate talking about my past, and i work very hard to hide all aspects of my jw past from anyone i meet.
Hi, Lemon & Lime! It's all part of the process of grieving, I'm afraid. You'll get through it. How about going to classes or hobby groups? You'll find somebody with the same interests. Reading books about people skills is good too.
People tend to sense if you have a 'great big secret' and could possibly shy away from that. So if anybody asks what are you doing for Christmas just say I'm going to see the folks or something, you don't have to tell the whole story from the get-go.
Once you are comfortable with people then you'll be able to say, oh, yes I'm having christmas with friends this year, and if they ask why, then you start telling them.
There's some fanstastic people out there, so let them in!

from many of your posts ive noticed some of you, who never were df or da are practicaly shunned by your family memebers or congregation memebers.
does that really mean they wouldnt talk to you or greet you, if they meet you on the street or if you call them?.
i live in eastern europe and i never in my life heard about such attitude.
I haven't spoken to one son in 8 years, and the other about 5 years. Both of them are married now. My ex sister in law sent me photos of my eldest sons wedding which happened 2 weekends ago.
What a great witness that is!

this is a responce to john does "what is it with women" post.
i'd like to point out that men do even more irrating and inexplicable things than women.... 1) not wanting to ask for directions.
2) getting a kick out of seeing people blown up in movies.
As mentioned a few posts ago, I used to be a postie. So I can say from extensive experience that men do not like to ask for directions! I used to see a car drive up and down, up and down, and I could see the woman arguing with the male driver. I've even heard women say, "There's the postie, if she doesn't know where it is, nobody can find it"!
Eventually, the car would pull up, the woman would wind down the window and ask for directions, while the man would stare steadfastly ahead, like his manhood and/or hunting instincts were being called into question!
It used to brighten up a day every now and then!

Hey, I used to be a postie! They started out as CT90s, but got upgraded to CT110s. Jeez, the mail I used to carry on those things, it was a wonder it went at all! The young fellas used to wheelstand those babies!
They still use them for mail delivery in the suburbs, well, in Queensland anyway. I didn't think the public could buy them from Honda, plenty of secondhad ones, though. I bought one for my son.
Gave up being a postie 10 years ago this month. Got my long service leave, had 12 months off, courtesy of John Howard! Good time, good mates!
YOu got a good bike there, you couldn't kill it if you beat it with a stick!
