When I was dating the unbaptised 'sister' who became my wife (never baptised), now seperated, we never had a chaperone, elders knew, didn't seem to care, i was probably to much bother, as i've said in other theads i always stayed under the jw radar. Came very close to being caught doin it tho one nite.............

after i decided/resolved to return to meetings several months ago, after being away on and off for several years; i can honestly say that i feel far more settled and comfortable in attending meetings again.. i struggled to attend before, having been reproved, then moving to a different congregation which i didnt find to be overly freindly.

it was only after i was reproved that i began to see all the past history of the soc iety(via internet) and the many things that simply stumbled me.

3 times i tried to return to meetings and three times i fell away.

Just started Internet gambling...tired of putting on a disguise to place bets!....anyone else?

yeah it was kinda pathetic wearing my "startski and hutch" sun glasses and a huge serial killer hat just to place some bets during melbourne's horse racing carnival!

a guy nodded at me as i left.... i dont see anything in the bible about gambling...."goddess of goodluck" crap just doesn't make sense, and greed well everyone who works an extra saturday could be disfellowshiped for "greed.

When I first started buying tickets, I had a really guilty conscience, I would hide the tickets in my wallet, in a secret part, hoping that my parents wouldnt pick it up & look inside, then there was the problem of if I won, how would I explain the new car, extra money or other prizes, in the end never won a damn thing

a question, maybe a dumbass one.

but i am reading about scandal, cover up and two witness policy.

- most of the cases seem to be not by the parent, but a trusted brother.. my question is this, - even if the elders might skirt round the issue, and come up with all this mouth of two witnesses stuff, why cant the parent simply go to the police - in this are they just as accountable?

Straight to the police is the only answer, why piss around talking to some dumb ars elders, don't these people see that their children are hurting & these elders have never satisfactorly delt with it, it's a serious crime (deserving the death penalty) and the police need to know, my 2 cents worth

Been gambling online with tAB NZ & Aus for the last 10 years, not big money lost more than won but hey it's fun
