in my job, i work with words and wrangle them into shape, well, in a manner of speaking.
one word might be mistaken for another, a word with either a similar or identical sound.
overtake (to catch up with and pass, In the USA, we drivers pass a vehicle; I believe in Australia, when I was driving, I overtook a vehicle.)
Overtake - used in Australia/NZ
Pass - used in Australia/NZ
Overtook - used in Australia/NZ but only after the overtake/pass has been performed
getting fired vs quitting_________________________my specialties in life are great and many, but none more fabulous than the talent i've possessed for getting fired and/or quitting a job.how many jobs and careers i blazed through would spin your head!
suffice it to say, more than you've time or patience to hear.. there is something in my psychology and verbal arsenal too prone toward candid criticism!
i find myself blurting out what i really think before even i can stop myself.i worked for an art gallery owner once who had everything going for him except good sense.
Here in Australia one has an advantaged in being fired, as citizens get social welfare almost straight away. If you quit your job & have no other, social welfare won't kick in until 25 weeks have passed. I'm a non-citizen so better to quit as I did with my last job, I don't get any social welfare even tho I pay the same (if not more) tax as citizens.

I could care less, that one always gets me, I see it here often & I have to stop and think about what do they mean.
I assumed it was an American thing, as here in Australia & my home country New Zealand it's always I couldn't care less

i won’t go into this much as an individual can read it for themselves and conclude as s(he) sees fit.
what i would say however, is that i remember llewellyn using phrases like “knowing your place in jehovah’s organisation” and “taking care not to act presumptuously”.

when i was a jw, i was taught that i can never succeed in life if i leave the sect.
now that i am no longer a member of the fold, how can i succeed in this only life i have and achieve my dreams?.

my older brother has abruptly stopped his bible study with the witnesses.
he was part-time shunning me during his study and his behavior was beginning to change into cult mode but he was thankfully woken up.
in my case; 27 years.
7 of which were as a ministerial serpent ... sorry, i mean 'servant' ;).
born in, 42 years, never a real jw
