  #1 Out DA'd

  #2 Faded once for many years now goes back only to keep wife happy (I believe)

  #3 Elder takes it to seriously always has

  #4 Never fully believed, faded, not been back 7 years & not going to. That's me..will DA soon

  #5 Always been in, but only out of habit, very weak.

  So thats

  2/5 out completely

  2/5 I believe could drop it if they were shown the real story.

  1/5 in it realy strong, he has wife with dibilitating illness & looking forward to new order, probably will never accept the real truth.

  one of the others, who lives a few hours from here, brought up an interesting subject, that of "upperdecking.

  " he, apparently, was recently introduced to this activity.

  A Sister and a Brother alone

  i've been looking in the watchtower library all morning and can't find anything.. i know that jws have this rule (is it unwritten??

  ) where a brother and a sister should not be left alone in a car, a house, or any private place.

  but my jw father says it's not so, and he spent a part of yesterday installing a computer program at a jw couple's house while the man was at work and the wife was at home.

  there are many generations of xjws here.

  i'm curious as to what happened to you in school.. were you sent to the library during festivities, allowed to stay home, or allowed to participate?

  enter the years if you can and the number of jw's with you.. mine: mid 1960's to mid 70's.

  mid 60s-mid 70s

  we just sat in class room when it was festivities time, there 2 of us in the same class, my cousin and i, we sometimes sang along with the carols.

  Religious education was different we had to go out of the class room and play sport or just play on the play equipment.

  As a JW Did you Feel " Guilted " to go to Meetings /Service if Injured /Sick ?

  many people in the jehovah's witnesses , older ones, younger ones have been expected to pioneer, go in field service with physical disabilities and are even considered "martyrs" if they push themselves to their physical capacities beyond reasonableness .

  thus many witnesses feel sick, exhausted, tired, and essentially fight depression due to high expectations to " burn out " for the wt society.

  have any of you experienced this while in the witnesses ?.

  26 years ago now, doctors gave me an all clear about 10 years ago & their comments were "your chance of it re-occuring are the same as any one else in the general population developing this cancer". so that made feel pretty good.

  still suffer from some of the side effects caused by 6 months of chemotheropy mainly depression due to chemical inbalance re thyroid.
